“Absolutely delicious Mediterranean flavors! Whipped feta andmushroom hummus served with wood fired pita bread. The lamb kabobs were great, but I noticed a 1/2 chicken platter that another diner had, so I will be going back for that. Also, excellent cocktails!“
“Ok so everything was good but the side salad alone was worth this review of 5 stars. Ordered the gyro plate which was flavorful and nicely decorated but the salad blew me away considering this is a Mediterranean joint… Instead of plain iceberg lettuce, a couple toms and cucs, this side salad had SPINACH, mixed greens, a HANDFUL of blueberries, strawberries, and a lovely creamy sweet mayo-based dressing. Was such a nice touch to the overall flavor experience. Would do again“
“Walked in and ordered some take out last night and was thoroughly impressed. The staff was very welcoming and after we ordered, the lady offered us a cup of their lentil soup while we waited and it was absolutely delicious! She even packed us up an extra cup to take with us. Got home and the food was beyond our expectations. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!“
“Came with a large group and we were all well fed and taken care of. Delicious food and friendly service.Vegetarian options: Falafel wrap, grape leaves, sambosas, lentil soupDietary restrictions: Had vegetarian and gluten free diets in our group and everyone had multiple options to eat and enjoy.“
“Allhumdulliuh Amazing Food ! As a an Arab and as a Muslim I want to say Thank-you The food is Halal and clean. It’s just a well rounded family restaurant. As a Saudi I love the Lamb Kabsah! Authentic Saj bread and good shawarma ! Fresh toum and loving people. My only problem is why is there only one restaurant? Stay in Denver and spread ! People will come no matter where, your food is Authentic and stays true to us Arabs !Thank-you again. ❤️إن شاء الله تتضاعف ثروتك وصحتك“
“An amazing restraint with an amazing owner. The food is cooked to perfection, I would highly recommend visiting this place in person. There are very few Syrian restaurants here and this place has got it down. It’s very conveniently located and the people around the restaurant are very nice as well. Highly recommend.“
“Top notch lamb shank. When it got to the table I thought to myself “How am I gonna eat this thing without a knife?” Then I sliced through it like butter with my fork. One of the best meals I’ve eaten in a long time. My only regret is that I’m not in Aurora longer so I could make more visits to this restaurant.“
“We came here on a not-so-busy day and were greeted like royalty. The team catered to our needs and served a meal like none I've ever tasted. We had the lentil soup and falafel for starters, to which mere words can not describe the delight on my taste buds. We closed the meals out with the chicken kabobs and rice, which I can not liken to any other way I've eaten chicken. This place is a gem everyone should add to their "must-go" list!“
“Great food and all, but when is this place open?? We've tried being regulars here but the days they're open seems to be erratic. They were closed 04/06 Saturday for lunch, and we tried again 04/07 and still closed. I hope everything's alright?“
“This is one of our favorite Mediterranean places. The food is excellent, consistent, and authentic. The hummus is to die for and the falafel, gyros, and chicken shawarma are some of our favorites. Skip Garbanzos and get your Mediterranean fix here!“
“Fresh and tasty falafel in a pita. Try it with amba sauce! The dining room is open for business.Vegetarian options: Vegan options include falafel sandwiches, fries, pita nachos, etc. Sabich could be vegan if omitting the boiled egg. No dairy on premises.Dietary restrictions: Mordy's is strictly kosher, under the supervision of the Scroll-K.“
“Service was good, attentive without being hovering. It felt like they might have been a tiny bit short staffed but we generally weren't waiting around and staff was friendly and explained dishes.Main courses were very good, decently spiced and plenty generous (we each had one of the combo entrees). Pita was hot and fresh.I got some baklava for dessert and it was surprisingly disappointing. I have made my own baklava (and it is not easy) and I've had it from many other places but this was dead last on any of them. For a Lebanese place I expected great baklava and this was an unfortunate negative surprise. So overall 4 stars.“
“Mmm mmm! Absolutely delicious meats. Every bite was tender and juicy and full of flavor. Very welcoming and authentic environment. A passionate owner and very dedicated push towards authenticity. Veggie soup was delicious and had some chickpeas which was a great addition. The triple kabob combo was perfect. A great gem in this area if you are craving kabab. Highly recommend you come check it out.Only suggestions I'd give would be to add some seasoning to the fries and also maybe include some type of sauce with the meats on the side, maybe a little cup of tahini/garlic sauce.Looking forward to visiting again.“
“Food is great and the value is fantastic, atmosphere is perfect, the staff is awesome and knows what’s up. I couldn’t recommend it more highly for a date night, spot to meet friends, or just a place to grab a burger and a drink! Patio seating and indoor seating with a solid bar what more can you ask for?“
“Also is absolutely delicious. My wife and I got the chicken pita and the veal pita. Both were delicious but we preferred the veal, it had more juiciness flavors. Although it is a bit more expensive for the kosher stuff, if you love a good pita wrap, it's worth it. Also their hummus is delicious, suuuuper creamy and yummy.“
“We came to eat on the spur of the moment and are very happy we chose Shondiz. There was a party of 30 right before us but the staff quickly helped us and our meals were not delayed. I recommend the Koobideh kabob and yogurt. The rice was delicious with saffron. Also, the chicken kabob was very tender. Staff was great too!“
“Saturday night takeout sharing the Meat lovers platter with a side of stuffed grape leaves. The kabobs were beautifully done, and not overdone. We’ve been to Turkey before and this place is legit- right down to the silky hummus and quiet pickled veggies scattered throughout the yellow rice.“
“Really satisfying and flavorful food here. The portions are generous, too! I tried the yogurt drink and it was great, so was the hummus, and the dolma. I would be glad to eat here again. Heads up: it got busy during weekday lunch time as the nearby office employees filled in.“
“My kids and I love this place. Kids friendly, family friendly, amazing food and great hospitality, and amazing service. My kids love this place because they always get treats. We eat here almost every week. Also the price is great for the quality of the food. Allahuma Barak!“
“My first time eating here and Ioved it! The recommended soup was amazing and the Lamb Shank lived up to its reputation! The hospitality was second to none. Very welcoming and gracious as I asked questions about everything! The meal was topped with a new favorite ice cream! Definitely will be back again!! Great job!!“
“Our group went to Ash’Kara to celebrate our friends birthday and we had the best time! We were seated outside on the patio but were kept warm with the heaters. The food was amazing! We shared the feta dip, hummus and the hot cheese one (forget the name) with Pita and Roti which was all delicious and we each ordered our own entrees -Salmon, pasta, lamb - all were phenomenal! And on top of the food, we had the BEST server, Jake. He was attentive, engaging and gave great recommendations on the food. Also provide me with a couple different mocktail options which was lovely. His service was outstanding and above and beyond. We also received a dessert on the house (the Baklava was dynamite!) and when we got champagne to toast our friend’s birthday, he brought me a glass of sprite so I could be included in the toast!Amazing food, amazing service - highly recommend and looking forward to returning!“
“Comfortable neighborhood restaurant in a trendy area. No frills. Just good food. And, good sized portions. We shared a salad that was big enough for three people. There were lots of fresh veggies and delicious dressing. My friend had the chicken shawarma which was served on a bed of really good hummus with a tasty pita. I thought my gyro plate was good, just a little too salty. It was also on a bed of that tasty hummus. I like that approach to the gyro. There were also red onions on the top...they were a little skimpy on the onions and could have given more. The pita were delicious! They were warm and just the right texture. I ordered extra to go with the gyro plate. The drinks were inconsistent. My first bourbon sour was pretty mediocre. And it was served in what looked like a wine glass. It was garnished with a lemon. That was odd. The second one was a little better and it was garnished with the orange and dark cherry. It was also in the right glass. The service was fine. They were nice about moving us and another couple because there was a large, noisy family in our section. They moved both of us into a quieter area in the front of the restaurant. I'd return if I were in Denver. It's worth a second trip.“
“We came here on New Years Eve to eat. The server we had was very kind, and we absolutely loved her. The food we had was super good and we even had to take a little home. The atmosphere was mid, but that might have been because there were few people or that we are not used to the environment.Parking: Tons and tons of spotsKid-friendliness: They are definitely kid friendly, it might not be the best idea to bring a kid 6 or younger unless they like Mediterranean food, because they don't have any "kid" optionsWheelchair accessibility: If you brought someone with a wheelchair, it would not be hard to find a spot to sit.“
“Our flight got delayed at night and we got to the halal guys at 10:23 when they were closing at 10:30 to place an order. We were so apologetic but grateful to Ivan who was the best!!! So sweet and told us not to worry about it and did not make us feel bad/rushed/unwelcome. Thank you again Ivan you rock!!!!“
“My husband and I went in for brunch 12/8/23 for our first time and enjoyed the food and our service was wonderful by the waitress we had I can't remember her name. We live in the neighborhood and will be back with our children to enjoy more food. I really love that it's fresh cooked and the green chili was amazing.“
“Been coming here for years, classic take-out location since they're open late into the AM, but they've recently renovated the interior as well, and with more space they are able to give it more of a sit-down restraunt experience. The new cashiers are super friendly!“
“I’ve been eating at Jerusalems since I moved to Denver in 2011. I can safely say it’s still my favorite spot in Denver. The Shish Kabob Plate has been bringing me joy for 14 years and I’ll never change my order. If you’re going for Dessert, the Koulage is the way to go. It’s great heated or cold. Support this restaurant, as they are one of the last few older spots that has been taken over by Denver’s influx of lackluster rich people. Long live Jerusalems!“
“So I've been here a few times, the first being a pretty mediocre experience, but every subsequent experience here has been GREAT! Having said that, if you were like me and had a bad first time, be willing to give them another shot. The iskendar kebab is what I'm hooked on here, which is amazing! The dolma are kinda lacking in flavor (not much acidity or citrus-y flavor), and not impressed by the falafel either. But the iskendar kebab, that's why you come here, that's why you live, that's what it's all for!“
