Highly recommend! The half roasted chicken with mole sauce and the mashed potatoes and gravy were absolutely hands down the best I've ever had. There were 5 in our party. the prime rib sandwhich was also good. I also recommend trying the elk bratwurst board as it was fantastic! The staff was super friendly. Get a reservation as we got in and seated immediately.
We were first timers in Colorado and at The Post! Let me tell you what the food was great- but the service was absolutely OUTSTANDING! Dakota R. was our server and he absolutely blew it out of the water! Probably the best service we’ve ever had! He made us feel so welcomed and special!
We will definitely be coming back from Louisiana /Florida!
Thank you Dakota!!!
Chicken and waffles were phenomenal! Great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Based on the reviews, The Post Mountain House Estes Park is an awesome place to eat and drink right by the Stanley hotel. The restaurant has a beautiful rustic design that matches the mountain town atmosphere—warm, cozy, and full of character. The food was outstanding, especially the fried chicken, which was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The gluten free options are plentiful, with labeled choices like the massive Caesar salad, gluten free chicken tenders, and spicy orange chicken and rice. The buffalo honey chicken was okay but mushy. The brussel sprouts were excellent, and the fried chicken sandwich was delicious. The house-brewed beer was a highlight, especially the strawberry flavor. Prices were more than reasonable for the portions. The service was phenomenal and outstanding, with multiple friendly staff checking on tables, cleaning crumbs, and explaining everything in detail. The best brunch in Colorado was also mentioned. The restaurant is conveniently located on the Stanley property and is kids friendly. Getting a meal with a view of Longs Peak is pretty awesome. Don't forget to visit the restroom in the basement.
