“Build your plate. I had brisket, hot links, okra and fries. This is the best restaurant okra I’ve ever had. Being from Mississippi, I know fried okra. The fries and okra are prepared as they are ordered and are served fresh and hot. The fries are nice and firm, not mealy at all. The brisket was good and the hot links too. Portions are generous. The staff is great and the place is clean. I will definitely be back. You can’t miss with this place.“

“Called ahead and talked to one of the best phone robots ever. It took my order flawlessly and the food was ready as I walked through the door. Great food too! My only gripe is that this place can be on the higher price point for fast food, but it does shine above the rest.
Vegetarian options: Every dish can be made vegetarian if it isn't already“

“Amy's Donuts was once a haven for lovers of all sorts of baked delights. From the twists, cinnamon rolls and, of course, the delicious donuts, everything they made was made freshly everyday and was sumptuous to the last bite. Now? Amy's is a laughing parody of itself.
What happened? Well, there's a new sheriff in town at Amy's and the crew is just terrible, as is the bakery itself. Menu screens no longer work. Prices have skyrocketed $0.49 per donut ($3, seriously?). Service is abysmal. And the donuts just don't taste the same.
I visited one afternoon to hopefully get a fantastic donut in their lively bakery. Not only was it completely empty but I was meet by a strange woman that didn't speak English well and acted very unprofessionally. The first thing I asked was how much the donuts cost, since the menu boards were either off or malfunctioning. When she told me they were $2.99 I almost left.
To add to the misery the restaurant was dirty and there were loads of donuts left. I understood both those points very well after I got in my car and tasted the donut I bought. It was total garbage. It was very dry, not flaky and tasted old. I was immediately disappointed. I was so disappointed it took nearly a month for me to review them.
Adding to the chaos is their most recent Health Dept. report card, which cited them for cleanliness, both in the dining room and in the kitchen. Standards have dropped significantly, which explains the decrease in quality for their food and customer service.
Overall, Amy's is a hard pass for me. At one time, I would've highly recommended them as a dessert oasis. Now, I don't look their way as I pass them on my way to my walking-distance apartment. I guess it's time to lose weight.
1 Star.
Update: 10/20/2025 - After a not so subtle health review, which highlighted many discrepancies, Amy's has come back with a vengeance. The donuts are, once again, delicious and unmistakably Amy's. The prices have gone up a little but the restaurant is cleaner, the issues with the back of the house have been resolved and the staff are much better with their customer service. The general vibe at Amy's has returned to its rightful place and the customers, judging by the packed dining room and endless drive-thru lines, are loving it and so am I.
Once again, Amy's Donuts has impressed me and regained my business. A very cautious but well deserved 4 stars. Keep up the good work, everyone. Your customers appreciate you.“

“🌟A Night to Remember at Luchal's ✨🌟 Last night, something truly beautiful happened at Luchal’s. I went in expecting a night of food, music, and good vibes — but what I received was something far deeper: community, kindness, and connection in the purest form. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warmest energy. The people — the beautiful souls that filled that space — were so sweet, open, and encouraging. Everyone made me feel like I belonged, like family. It's not every day you find a place that feels like a hug. As the night went on, something magical unfolded: a group of men paid for our food anonymously and disappeared before we could even thank them. Then the owner, with a heart bigger than words can capture, covered our drinks — not even knowing who we were. It was a gesture that moved me to tears. This wasn’t just hospitality. This was love in motion. And when I got up to sing karaoke, y’all… the love I felt from that crowd? It was soul-shaking. They clapped, they cheered, they lifted me. I’ll never forget that moment. At the end of the night, the owner — whom I had wanted to meet from the beginning — came over to our table. I finally got the chance to congratulate her on what she’s built: not just a business, but a sanctuary. I asked if I could share my handmade hair product samples — and without hesitation, she said yes. Then she offered me a corner to set up a whole table. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude, I cried. This is what real support looks like. This is what community feels like. If you’re looking for a place where the food is fire, the vibes are unmatched, the music is healing, and the people are soul-nourishing — Luchal’s is where you need to be. Thank you, Luchal’s. For the love. For the laughter. For the platform. I’ll never forget it.
