“After being in Denver 4 years my husband has always been intrigued when seeing the stranahan’s sign from i 25. Having grown up in Toledo Ohio my husband is familiar with the name Stranahan because of the stranahan Theatre. And had childhood friendships with one of the grandchildren of the stranahans, he had to see the operation of the distillery for himself. Being our first time in a distillery of such scale. We were impressed by their commitment to quality and the simplicity and strength of their Brand. Not to mention the flavor and feel of their whiskey was outstanding. Stranahans whiskey will always have a place in our liquor cabinet.“
“Definitely a dark speakeasy vibe and good whiskey selection. I feel as a whiskey enthusiast that not having a whiskey menu was a bit annoying. I either need to ask the bartender about what they have and or what it costs....this feels like a burden to both the customer and the bartender who is busy trying to provide service for the patrons. Overall, solid stop if you're looking for some variety they definitely have a broader selection and flights available.“
“Very cool place, A piece of Americana with Pin Ball Machines and some old school video games. Great selection of Whiskies that are very affordable. Owners and staff very cool also. Had some friends that did an office party their and it was great. I will definitely be back soon,“
“Awesome bar!! Came here to watch the Super Bowl with 7 others and we all got fairly comfortably. There was a special with all you could eat wings / all you could drink beer for $50 and it was spot on. Wings were delicious and the Coors kept flowing. The servers were regularly stopping by to make sure our party was all good and to see if we needed anything. All of them were really welcoming and friendly too. Will definitely be visiting again!!“
“Great neighborhood place with amazing old fashioneds. Ask for the one made with the port bourbon! Staff is fun and friendly - always makes a point to remember and greet the locals. Perfect place for an after dinner cocktail to hang out with friends.“
“I was not expecting the experience I received. First off, I have to say the two guys running the bar ( I sadly didn't catch their names) were very welcoming and provided amazing service. As a bourbon and whiskey fan I was delighted. They had me sampling through each before I left. Each one was unique and fantastic. The cask strength bourbon (whiskey?), that Ive unfortunately forgotten the name of, was seriously insane. However Cacklers was the star of the show for me. Absolutely fantastic bourbon for the price.Seriously y'all don't sleep on this one.“
“Good place, open early morning - 7am. Nice server and fast service. We both got the breakfast burritos, menu says supreme so, I was expecting a giant burrito but it was normal size, have been to other places and I can never finish it but had no problem with this one. Sauce had good flavor but not spicy at all, same thing with the chorizo. Overall good not great.Breakfast menu has a variety of items at reasonable prices except the $5 for coffee.Would return to give their lunch/dinner a try.“
“High Lonesome is as close as you can get to the textbook definition of a neighborhood bar. I like the name, I dig the vibes, and it's one of those places that can appease any type of bar rat. Located in the Highlands on Navajo, set foot in a laid back and casual atmosphere. It's divey, has a pool table and a jukebox. You're here for a good time, so drink up. Cheap beers in bottles and a really nice selection of whiskies. The fact you have the option to order a made to order, hand crafted cocktail or a cheap beer resonates with me. My only qualm with this place is that is usually takes me a million years to get a drink. I've been here half a dozen times and I don't know if it's just bad luck on my end, but I've had to wait at the bar for a long time. The bartenders work hard and sometimes are dealing with rowdy patrons, I've just been skipped a handful of times. Won't stop me from coming back, just my experience! For cocktails, you can't go wrong with their house old fashioned or negroni. Or even their Japanese whiskey highballs. They do have a rotating selection of house cocktails too that I've had previously and enjoyed. For beers, I love that they have Coors Banquet, Hamms, Lone Star and Miller High Life for $4. They also boast some great local ales for only a few bucks more. Great neighborhood bar. Should be in the rotation more often. Bring your crew and saddle up for a fun night at High Lonesome.“
“Some of the best food in Denver! The French toast is so crispy and amazing. The brussel sprouts are probably the best I’ve had in my life. The space has a warm atmosphere and the servers were all super kind. Our food came out really fast too! Overall, we literally drove from Arvada for this and it was very much worth the trek and we can’t wait to come back again!“
“We live five minutes from Old Town and came here on a Saturday night when there was a whiskey tasting from Talnua distillery. I got a bourbon ball drink, which tasted like a delicious chocolate milkshake and others in our group got other delightful cocktails. The ambience itself is really cool and almost feels like an old Western yet modernized interior. I like how this place is a coffee shop, but also has cocktails and pizza at night. We will definitely be back for pizza in the future. We also had a great time meeting the distillery owners and doing a free tasting and talking for about 30 minutes. Love the vibe of this place!“
“Down home chill bar with fair prices ?Good place to make friends if you’re new here and it’s not packed full of 20-something year old partiers on the weekends. They have a pool table and a couple arcade games too!Cigar bar next door is 10/10 as well :)“
“Atmosphere and food are really good, prices seem high but location and quality ingredients justify them. Service was cold, rushed, and abrasive. Could have just been an off night for them though and everything came out correct, hot, and pretty fast so still 5 stars.“
“I love popping by this place for daytime and lunch – the service is consistently excellent. But when it comes to dinner or the late hours, it's not my top pick. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere somehow fades, especially if you're sitting at the bar. By the way, you really can't make a wrong choice from the menu. Their food is seriously comforting, and that grilled artichoke dip? It's hands down the best I've had in the city.“
“We dined in, sat in the bar area, it was Happy Hour & very busy, so our waitress was also helping out behind the bar! Very noisy, with my hearing aides.Parking: Parking lot was a block away, so we walked that block. Mid-afternoon parking was no problem.“
“my hunny & i were on vacation last week & we decided to tiktok some places to eat. i came across this restaurant with phenomenal reviews & plus we have the same restaurant at home (DC) but we never experienced the environment until now! i made the reservation for Saturday night for our date night & THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT not one bit! once we arrived, we were greeted upon arrival & the atmosphere was beyond gorgeous & aesthetically pleasing. the host walked us over to our table (booth) & we sat down & were greeted with glasses of water. our server DAVID was a well-spoken of menu knowledge, he gave great recommendations including food & beer, he also recommend this beer called Mexican Lager which is similar to Corona (which we are a fan of) & lastly, he periodically checked up on us. For food wise, EVERYTHING WAS PHENOMENAL from the drinks to the fried oreo dessert. for our appetizer, we had classic buttermilk biscuits with jelly & honey cinnamon butter. for our meals, i had shrimp & grits & i devoured the entire dish. my hunny had lewellyn’s fine fried chicken which he destroyed. for our sides, we had grilled butter broccolini & mac & cheese which both was TORCH but i do not recommend you take those side dishes to go. for our desserts, we had FRIED OREO’s which we both never had before & we are completely in love wit fried oreo’s now. overall, our date night at the restaurant was one for the books. BIG UP’s TO DAVID our server & the entire Yardbird staff. 10/10 recommend!!!“
