Black Steer Steakhouse Reviews
For my 70th birthday, my nieces treated me to a wonderful dinner at the Black Steer Restaurant. Our waitress, Naomi, was absolutely fantastic! She made some great recommendations for our meals and drinks, and her friendly attitude really brightened our evening. Plus, she was super quick getting our food and drinks to us. It was such a delightful experience!

Black Steer Steakhouse is a long-standing restaurant with a rich history, having been a favorite spot for many families for over 50 years. Its old western decor, reminiscent of a John Wayne movie, creates a cozy, nostalgic atmosphere that appeals to guests looking for a classic steakhouse experience. The interior is bright and inviting, with a warm, friendly vibe.
The restaurant is well known for its amazing food, especially the steaks. Several reviews highlight the quality of the steaks, with the 14 NY Strip receiving particular praise for being cooked perfectly and tasting great. The peppered steak is also a popular choice among diners. In addition to steaks, the French onion soup is noted for being very cheesy, adding to the enjoyable meal options.
Service at Black Steer is generally friendly and efficient, with staff holding reservations and ensuring guests are seated promptly. However, some reviews mention inconsistent service, such as long wait times for food or checks, which can detract from the overall experience. The menu includes appetizers like onion rings, fried pickles, and chicken strips, though some guests felt these were frozen items and not exceptional.
While the food quality is often praised, some visitors feel that the restaurant relies on its historic reputation rather than constantly focusing on exceptional service or atmosphere. Prices can be high, especially for drinks, appetizers, and steaks, making it a special occasion spot rather than a casual dining choice. Overall, Black Steer Steakhouse remains a beloved, iconic restaurant known for its classic steaks and western charm.
