Amazing place!! The bar is top notch! Eric is an amazing mixologist!! We experienced the chocolate martini, the Smoky Sunset the Dragon Vapour and the Western Deluxe Old Fashioned! 5 stars! Make time to visit this blast from the past!
The Western is a beautiful Hotel and lovely staff. My daughter recently married in Ouray. We chose the Western for their reception and stayed at the Hotel. It was absolutely beautiful. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Making our stay even better. Susanne was wonderful to me the day of the reception making every little detail exactly as my daughter wanted it to be. The Saloon at The Western Hotel offers an exceptional dining experience with attentive and friendly service. The menu boasts a variety of options, catering to both vegan and non-vegan diets, with each dish being flavorful and well-prepared. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable, making it suitable for both casual and special occasions. The building's original features create a cool and authentic vibe, adding to its charm. Guests have enjoyed delicious food and drinks, including creative cocktails and a nice wine list. Standout dishes include the short rib fettuccine, which has received high praise, and the bone-in pork chop grilled to perfection. During visits, diners have appreciated distinctive flavors like an apple salad with beets and goat cheese, and smaller portions that leave no leftovers. The restaurant also offers special touches such as a fireplace-cooked menu option, enhancing its cozy atmosphere. The Western Hotel's beautifully restored 1891 building, reminiscent of the old west yet modern with updates, adds to the overall appeal. The chefs' table provides a great experience for those interested in watching the craft in action and tasting elegantly presented dishes. Overall, The Saloon remains a must-visit for a delightful meal with excellent service in a historic, warm setting.
