My husband and I had lunch there yesterday. We both had a combo lunch. I had the tamale and shredded chicken taco. The meal was amazing 🤩 I've had a lot of tamales in my long life and that was probably the best that I've ever had. The rice and beans were perfectly flavored. I highly recommend you stopping by. The waitress and extremely friendly and thoughtful.
This little spot had the best Mexican food in Pagosa Springs!

Good food. I asked for more chips as I ordered different dips but I was told they would just bring more dip and they did not bring chips. Not sure if it costs extra or they just didn’t want to give a refill of chips? Observed other servers being nice mine seemed slightly irritated.

My family and I had breakfast burritos at Chavalos today, and they were marvelous. We ordered chorizo, eggs potatoes and cheese and others with bacon instead of chorizo. They were both terrific. We got a cup of their chili which was super flavorful. We got it separately instead of smothered, which was a good call so we could enjoy the crispy outside of the tortilla.

Oddly, it seems more like a neighborhood hang out, than anything. The food was ok/borderline good, but the drinks (margaritas) are definitely better. If I were a traveler, I'm not sure I'd make a stop here. But if you're reading this review, know you definitely could do worse. Oh, and the guacamole wasn't very good. My wife and I both tried it, but it tasted funky. I don't know if that's a recipe they used or what, but nope - not good...

Cute little place. Not for sure if it’s family owned but definitely felt like it everyone was super friendly and Edgar is a great server. Yet most of all the food was amazing and priced very reasonably. Do your self a favor and just skip the other Mexican restaurants in town and come here!

We could not eat our food. My husband's fajita stak salad was disgusting and my taco shells were burned. No one when asked when we left 2 90% full plates on the table.
We were there with a large party, On a Sunday morning. The staff was great, food came out quickly, and everything was delicious.
We all felt like part of the family!

Our server was a bit slow on getting us chips, ordering, and Bill, but it may have been an off day. The food was very good, as were the margs. I would definitely go back.
