The Rose Reviews
Best breakfast in Pagosa! Melissa is the most amazing server. She never misses a beat. She'll be greatly missed. 💙
I 💜 The Rose. Its my only breakfast stop! Breakfast BLT is my go to but everything has always been delicious.
All of the staff is great but Summer is hands down my favorite server of all time!
Precious quaint little cafe. We arrived about 9am and we’re seated and served promptly! Loved the atmosphere, coffee, and homemade biscuits.

The Rose is a charming local restaurant that offers delicious and satisfying meals. The breakfast menu includes classic options like the Country Benedict and biscuits with gravy, while the lunch menu features a unique ham and apple panini. The restaurant is known for its big coffee mugs and friendly service, with the waitstaff going the extra mile to make customers feel welcome. Vegetarian options are available, and the establishment values cash payments by offering a discount. Although it can get busy at times, the small-town charm and tasty food make it a worthwhile destination.
The restaurant has a cozy, homey atmosphere with a china wall featuring pops of color and rose-covered ceiling panels. Customers feel like they're stepping back in time, enjoying home-cooked meals and friendly faces. The menu items, such as the Western Hash, Green Chili Omelette, and blueberry pancakes with sliced bananas, are praised for their excellent taste and seasoning. The restaurant also offers generous portions of hash browns and always has coffee ready to serve.
Recent reviews highlight the good food and decent prices at The Rose. One customer called it a hidden gem, mentioning that it looks like it’s from the 80’s but offers a great menu. They enjoyed the “chopped green chile omelette,” smothered in green chile with chopped bacon, peppers, and onions, and praised the crispy hashbrowns and friendly, fast service. Another reviewer described it as a lovely place for breakfast, noting the abundant portions of home-style food, cleanliness, quick service, and attention to detail. A third reviewer recommended the ham and grilled swiss cheese sandwich, which included tart granny smith apples, sweet grape jelly, and fluffy eggs, making it truly unique and remarkably tasty. Overall, The Rose remains a popular spot for tasty food, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere.
