Most items on menu can be prepared gluten free, try the eggplant caponata with gf crackers
Everything was super delicious. Every plate on our table was cleaned off Not a crumb left behind. Chase our server was exceptionally good at his role of server and hospitality guru. Knew the menu and wine list inside out. He made all accommodations that we requested. The kid made me feel like Frank Sinatra. 21 out of 10. Highly recommend.
We were there for our daughters rehearsal dinner. Everything was excellent!

Shavano is a restaurant in Salida that receives high praise from diners. Everything is super delicious, with every plate cleaned off and not a crumb left behind. The food is fresh and wonderful, and the service is fantastic. Guests appreciate that the ingredients are fresh and locally sourced.
The menu offers family style meals that can be shared amongst many people, and everybody leaves full and happy. Specific dishes that receive praise include the eggplant, salad, potatoes, lamb, trout, summer farro risotto, carrots, Baked Camembert, Prime Rib, Roasted Summer Squash, Pan Fried Potatoes, Grilled NY Strip, and the Summer Squash. The Summer Squash is described as a simple dish that is so good, and the Prime Rib is delicious and cooked to perfection.
The service is phenomenal, with servers who know the menu and wine list inside out and make all accommodations that are requested. The host is gracious even on a very busy Friday evening. The wine selection is great. Shavano is highly recommended and described as a must eat when in Salida, a place not to be missed, and phenomenal from food to service.
