The food is consistently good and light and portions tend to be on the small side. The service is professional and friendly.
Shay was awesome. Got to have lunch with mom and her long-time best friend as they stopped through town. Food was incredible. Truffle fries major yum. Sticky toffee pudding to die for
I'm bummed we didn't have a good experience here because we were excited for Sweet basil but it is mediocre food at a HIGH price. My husband said the best thing he ate was the bread and butter. It was also my birthday and they gave us a card that said happy anniversary. We will not be going back.
Sweet Basil never disappoints. From the gold standard dessert—Sticky Toffee Pudding—to the new Rye Soba Noodles with Furikake Shrimp, I've NEVER had a bad lunch at this Vail icon.
If in Vail don't miss this amazing restaurant. The dishes are fresh and inventive, the service is excellent and the ambiance is so inviting.
Outstanding service - very personable and knowledgeable staff. Made all of feel very comfortable. My Caesar salad and halibut were excellent.
Calamari and shrimp appetizer was great. But the big hit was the burger. Great service as always.
Our dining experience at Sweet Basil was exceptional. Our server was engaging, and made wonderful suggestions. She checked back with us several times to make sure that everything was perfect. The food was delicious starting with our heirloom tomato salad, which was so beautifully prepared. Our ricotta gnocchi was one of the very best dishes that we have ever had. The sauce was so savory and was perfect with the gnocchi. The halibut was plated with very gourmet accompaniments and a delicious sauce. Everything was so delicious that we are going back this weekend to enjoy some of the very best food in Vail! This restaurant is at the top of our list.
The food and service was excellent! Our waitress, Shea, was very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection.
They were out of the filet which made the experience disappointing since they already have such a limited menu. Prices are very high and sadly, I didn't think it was worth it.
Restaurantji Recommends
We had a bad experience in another location in Vail Village tonight. The wife and I are celebrating our 24th anniversary. Thank goodness for Sweet Basil and our bartender Scott. The old fashioned he made was on point and very friendly. Great experience, just one great drink raised our spirits and finished the night on high point, thank you!!!

What an incredible night! If I could give more than 5 Stars I would! Everything was amazing.... the food, our sever, the atmosphere.... I highly recommend an experience at this wonderful restaurant! I'll definitely be back!!!
We were here for the first time a year ago and loved it. We were so excited to come back but this time really disappointed. Sat at a table in the middle of walkway when there were plenty of other tables. Very loud area with other tables yelling and whooping it up. Service was pleasant but sooooo slow. Many times we were looking for just water to be refilled. Food was honestly just ok and two entrees were lukewarm . We just ate it since we couldn't find any one - didn't come by to check on our meals. We expected it to be on the higher end for our meals but when the experience and food are not on point, it's just not worth it.
Very nice

Sweet Basil’s reputation and setting create high expectations, yet my experience was unfortunately underwhelming. The dishes, though artfully plated, were curiously devoid of flavor, leaving little to savor beyond presentation. Service, while cordial, was inattentive; our server, Grace, seemed disengaged and missed opportunities to elevate the evening. For a restaurant of such renown, the overall impression was disappointingly ordinary rather than memorable.
