Estuvimos sentados 15 minutos sin que nadie nos atendiera ni nos ofrecieran agua o algo de tomar, ni se acercaron a la mesa hasta q fui con la señorita que nos recibió y ella lo solucionó
Wonderful experience! Food and drinks were divine, and our waitress, Megan, was exceptional - she really went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. Highly recommend!
Our party of four was delighted with our Sweet Basil dining experience on every level. Our waiter, Ginney, was delightful and did en excellent job of explaining our dining options. We all agreed Sweet Basil continues to reign supreme as Vail's finest restaurant.
Sweet Basil graciously accommodated our reservation from 2-5 people on a very busy holiday weekend. Every suggestion our server offered was awesome and made our meal an exceptional experience. Wine and cocktail list were spot on. Desserts are a must! The setting doesn't get any better. Sweet Basil is always my go to in Vail Village.
We had pork and elk. Elk was virtually raw. I had stomach upset all night after our meal. Everything tasted great. The chef recommended the Elk be cooked medium, but it came out raw. Our server was phenomenal. We enjoyed our evening, but given how ill I was after the meal, I would pause returning.
I usually have a 5/5 experience at this restaurant but my last visit did not meet up to the standards I've come to expect. My issue was the food and drink. I ordered a Pimm's Cup cocktail which usually has muddled cucumber and mint. It only had it placed on top so it lacked that extra flavoring the muddling prides. My sister and I ordered the fish which we both agreed was a bit dry. Otherwise everything about our experience was very good.
We are regulars eating here several times a year since the late 1970s. The heirloom tomato salad is always excellent as is the best Caesar salad anywhere in the world. The halibut was excellent as are their other fish entrees. However the Dungeness crab pasta with very heavy cream sticky sauce was a real disappointment. It is hard to actually find pieces of crab. It was presented as close to a casserole with the top congealed and rather hard. We would not recommend it ever. It does not compare as one of the staff suggested to the saffron linguine with lobster one of their signature dishes since they opened and one of the best ever. However it is only rarely on the menu the last few years and you cannot find out if it will be served when you make a reservation. Service is excellent and it is all in all a wonderful restaurant with a great wine selection and a very experienced knowledgeable staff.
Our favorite restaurant in vail. Always incredible food and excellent service! I've been coming for over 30 years.
An all around great experience. Our server, Jason, had a great personality and made solid recommendations. The Ahi Tuna Crudo is worth going in for. The salmon and halibut dishes were both delicious. The rye Manhattan was also one of the better Manhattan's I have had.
Food and atmosphere are good (especially the tables by the river), but the service was incredibly slow and a bit inattentive.

We were greeted by Andy at the bar wonderful man. Served us two great drinks lemon drop and old-fashioned were amazing. Got seated asked for an end table as we made the reservations two months ahead of time got stuck in the middle. Very noisy. Our meals were amazing everything we had the oysters The Wagyu starter. The crab and shrimp noodle dish great and the signature feta was over the top. Even the dessert was spectacular, which is a chocolate pinecone. Unfortunately the waitress who is only her second time out was terrible slow as molasses. She was a ton of a nice oh my God 2 1/2 hours to eat over the top she needs work.
Repeat customer. Always a fantastic evening with wonderful food, great service and intimate ambiance.
Fabulous hand made cocktails, friendly wait staff and delicious food. Cannot go wrong here!
Food and service were excellent! Some unusual dishes, like quail, are on the menu. The toffee cake dessert is one of the best desserts I have ever had.
Consistent;y excellent! It is always on our list of MUST visit spots when in Vail on vacation. We recommend SB to friends and family planning a visit to Vail or nearby communities. It is a pleasure to dine here! Waiters are personable and very interested in their menu... can make recommendations for food and wine pairings... always "spot on." It is a bit more expensive than some spots but you will have an outstanding dining experience! Don't miss this gem overlooking Gore Creek!
