Great food and great host, but terrible service and service recovery. Waitress dropped a big thing of Soy sauce that splattered all over our clothes, a bag of clothes we just bought, and even splashed on our face and into our hair. She handed us a dry rag to clean up ourselves and the table. Took us 5 minutes to clean up, no clue if stains will come out. Never sincerely apologized, no offer for a free drink or anything. Really spoiled a special night out. All we needed was a sincere apology and acknowledgment. Not what I would expect from the high prices. Last time we go to Yama.
Fatal actitud de las meseras y de la hostess a pesar de que solo habíamos 2 mesas, sin duda no volvería
The food was excellent. However the tables are very close and the place is quite loud. There was a group that was very drunk and noisy. Not a great place for conversation
Great atmosphere, excellent food and lovely helpful staff giving a relaxed fun environment and enjoyable meal.
The atmosphere is beautiful. That’s where the positives end. Service was abysmal. We had to ask for everything twice and some things even three times. Server was sooo inattentive. For instance, we asked for the check and 10 minutes later asked for the check again. Instead of bringing us the check, she started to clear our table. To the point it took like 5 minutes while we sat there watching here wanting our check. We could’ve been gone and she could’ve cleaned without us having to be a part of it. As she started cleaning, I actually asked for the check a 3rd time and she said “when I’m done cleaning your table”. That in a nutshell is how the service went. And as far as the food is concerned, it’s small, overpriced and mediocre. This is a great place to go if you want to spend a lot of money, get horrendous service and leave hungry.

Had a delicious lunch here today! The sushi is seriously delicious, made by a great sushi chef and way more affordable than other sushi places in town! I wish more people would bring their business here. I see some not very nice reviews about the hostess/waitress but people just don’t understand her! She has a very dry sense of humor and if she comes off as “rude” it’s her way of being funny! Please have a conversation with her and you will see she’s actually a very nice woman and has been in this business for many, many years along with her family and they are also very nice people. She was making us laugh so hard today! I think we all need to keep in mind that everyone has a story and maybe to ask questions and have conversations with people rather than immediately coming up with an opinion. Just my two cents. And for those of you that say they won’t go back because of their interaction with her, it’s definitely your loss.

Server neglected to place my sushi order. When asked she said it’s made to order. Then she goes and puts in the order. I can hear the ticket print out at the sushi station.
She straight lied to me.

The food at Yama is fantastic. We had the Spicy Tuna taco appetizer. Fried tempura battered veggies, a Boom Boom roll and a Hammerhead roll with spicy tuna and Serrano topping.Everything was on point. Mia did a great job with the service. We will ask for her next time in.
I enjoyed everything about this place. We went to a very high rated, popular restaurant the night before and their sushi was a disappointment. We decided we wanted a re-do so stopped in at Yama the following evening. We walked into a busy dining room but were able to sit at the bar. The service was fantastic and the ladies helping us were personable and welcoming! The rolls were well made and tasted good.

we had a great experience. the food and service while eating were perfect. however, the tall girl in boots setting tables outside this past saturday was extremely rude to my husband. she didn't make eye contact and dismissed my hubby and his question about eating outside. we had a reservation and apparently outdoor dining is first come first serve but she could not be bothered. everyone else was extremely professional.
