We heard others talking about this place and decided to check it out. It's out of the way which makes it even cooler. Great ambiance. Food is amazing. Yummy house margaritas!! I had the chicken soup and we did guacamole and chips for an appetizer. Others had the Philly w/ fries and the Trout with rice. Fries were awesome! Everyone was super happy with their meals. A little pricey but it was worth it!

Unassuming dive with outstanding food and service. Took my wife and kids after a day on the Snowmass slopes. One of the highlights of our Aspen trip. Food was awesome; enchiladas, fish tacos, burger and kids quesadilla along with some guacamole we're all awesome. We also were able to get some Hunter S. Thompson vibes in! Highly recommend.

Food was just what a needed after gnaring Snowmass Location was right on the river with an iconic history Service was friendly with a smile
Had a lees than pleasant experience with management here. Made a reservation for a Sat night at 7:45 for a party of ten. Was warned that if we cancelled late there might be a $50 per person penalty. Anyway we unfortunately had some issues with our group that caused 3 people to have to leave Sat afternoon and one of the others was not feeling well. So early Sat - 8AM) I called restaurant and left a VM cancelling. Restaurant is open for lunch so I assume message was received early in the day. Well without calling they charged credit card for $500. Now I know nothing about the restaurant business and don't know how much our cancellation cost them or how much trouble our cancellation caused. But they had 8-10 hours notice. It's still a popular place and I find it hard to believe they did not use those spots on a Saturday night in season. I chose not to call and argue because I was warned But this felt like a harsh result. in any event our group has gone there for years and we are done with them. Reading other reviews can't say I am surprised by their actions.

I used to ride a bicycle from Aspen to woody creek for lunch at least once every summer. I remembered that the food was very average classic American food. After I moved to Scottsdale few years ago, I kind of forget about this place and I was so happy that I rediscovered this place and I had a great meal here. Recently we visited Aspen for winter break and after long day of skiing we decided to go to woody creek tavern for dinner. We loved the new menu, it was healthier, better quality of food ( new American). The service was excellent! Our waitress was very sweet and friendly, it seems that everyone works there were happier. The ambiance of course people come to this restaurant for the ambiance. I'm so glad that they still keep the original looks. Woody creek tavern is one of a kind restaurant that you can't find anywhere, but in Woody Creek, CO. Thank you for the delicious meals and excellent service! Will comeback soon.

Famous for a reason! Cozy tavern with top-notch service and food. A group of five of us sat the bar on a Friday evening. We tried the Salsa Verde Nachos and the Lamb Lollipops, the latter of which was was soooo tasty and perfectly seasoned. The picture really doesn't do it justice. Highly recommend for a cozy and quintessentially Aspen experience. Tips: -Snag a reservation in advance if you can -Kitchen closes at 9pm
