“This place is amazing. Their beef patties are nicely spiced and one of the best. The vegetable patty is also delicious. I’ve had their jerked chicken, curry goat, and oxtail. All are so tender and flavorful. Good sized portions and affordable. Glad to have a place like this in West Hartford. I’ve never been disappointed.“

“This was my second visit to The Dutch Pot Restaurant in Miami Gardens Fort Lauderdale, and it won’t be my last! The true gem of this place is the staff. From the moment I walked in, I noticed the genuine, friendly interaction between the staff and customers – no impatience or condescension, just warm and welcoming service. It’s rare to find such a personable atmosphere! The food was, as always, incredible. I had the curried goat, which was perfectly spiced and tender, and the oxtail was rich and flavorful. Both dishes were spot-on! To top it off, we were given a tour of the newly opened, exclusive upstairs dining area (pictures to come!), which looks fantastic. Kudos to the owners for continuously elevating the dining experience here. Overall, this is a fantastic business that deserves to be replicated – amazing food, a welcoming team, and a beautifully designed space. “I’m from the Bahamas and I have lived in South Florida for years. I now live in North Florida and haven’t had the same Jamaican food restaurant taste as I did in South Florida. Why the hell I just pulled up in Windsor Locks Connecticut and saw this place and thought to myself ‘Ain’t no way in the world this gonna be good.’ I was wrong. I got the curry goat and a beef patty. This place is it. 100%. And I never leave comments.“

“(Note: This review is for the Albany Ave. location) This won't be a popular review. For decades my family would frequent Scott's Bakery. We loved everything that they offered (hardo bread, beef patty, coco bread, plantain tart and so on). When I said we liked EVERYTHING, I mean it. Everything was on point!! Yesterday was my first time (and last time) going into Scott's in about a decade plus. It is clear that management has changed (if not management, something has gone horribly wrong). The shell of the patty was beyond thick and there was little meat in it. The coco bread was beyond disgusting! It was a flavorless clump of undercooked dough. You know how coco bread is supposed to taste. It didn't taste like that at all. It seems as though they've cut corners on their peanut punch which had a gell-like texture. The BEST part of everything that I purchased was the Cola Champagne. As long as they continue to use the same distributor they can't mess that up. Maybe they had a bad day. I won't be spending money to find out.“

“Red pea soup on Saturdays.? Arrive before 3pm or else.....? Stewed peas...it's criminal how good this dish is. Perfectly salty. And the porridge....the cornmeal porridge coupled with fried dumplings. I dip mine into the porridge. Inappropriate, right?? The. Peanut. Porridge. Amazing ?? Reasonable prices and friendly service. “I was disappointed because the servings of food are not consistent, one server makes sure to ask what you need and the food is good but the next server the following week really disappoint the rice was swimming in gravy it was so bad that it looked like dog food and I guess she didn't care about great service because the oxtails had 6 of the smallest pieces of oxtails that I have seen; this was so disappointing it felt like I had begged for some food.
