Hanami Japanese Sushi Restaurant

Food was pretty good!
Service was friendly but quite delayed.
Ambiance was serviceable but could be improved.

Absolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish. Every sushi roll was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The drinks were just as impressive! We’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend the tropical roll and the snow white roll to anyone looking for amazing sushi.

Very friendly staff.

Tony and the entire staff are so professional and welcoming. The food is extraordinary each dish is better than the last. I do not believe there is better sushi anywhere in CT.

We stopped in for a quick bite and honestly didn’t expect the food to be this fresh or this good. They clearly use high-quality fish—even the ginger was incredibly fresh and delicious.

We ordered the Naruto, Out of Control and Green Dragon rolls, and both were excellent. We’ll definitely be back!

A very good maki roll experience which was better than Masa Sushi also in Clinton but not quite as good as Daiko Jerry San's Sushi Bar in Branford. We had two orders of maki rolls and one order of steamed shrimp dumplings as well as a 22-ounce beer. Service was great and the total bill for two people before tip was $56. They also have a hibachi section. If you are in the area, definitely consider Hanami!

I’m convinced this place is racist. Me and my boyfriend were the only people of color in that entire restaurant and for some reason some skinny tall lady with a ponytail decides to give us our check facing us. She knew exactly what she was doing. We went to check other tables (they were all white) and no one else had received their check BEFORE they got their food. This place is not a safe space for people of color and honestly the food wasn’t even that great. The owner should be embarrassed for hiring someone like that unless she’s the owner. Absolutely disgraceful. Will not be coming here again.

I can't say enough good things about this experience. Tony was incredible, his service was excellent. He went over the specials with meticulous detail and sold me on every bit of it and im glad he did because the salmon belly we ate was the best fish I have had in my entire life and I have eaten sushi across the entire country. Every bit of food was incredible and I will absolutely drive 3 hours out of my way to go back here because the food and service was truly that good.
