One of the best sushi restaurants in CT, the family owned business has a lot of fun. The owner is a car fan and he own the Ford raptor.

Hanami is truly outstanding! The sushi is some of the best I’ve ever had—fresh, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor. Their hibachi experience is equally impressive, with skilled chefs who make it both entertaining and delicious. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a special night out or just indulging in great food. The staff is wonderful, always friendly and attentive, making sure every detail is perfect. Best sushi and atmosphere on the shoreline for sure! Much bigger inside and have the best sushi rolls. Alot to choose from! Iv been here a few times and it has never been disappointing!!!
I've finally found the time to live a review about this "beautiful" place where you are treated by employees like an unworthy gaijin at the feet of a great emperor. The faces and behavior of the workers tell everyone about their 300-year-old Japanese dynastic origins, who were simply brought by mistake to work as service personnel in this godforsaken America. Oh yeah, and the food is "divine" I can't vouch for everyone, but my wife and I had serious stomach upsets, quite possibly due to the overall combination of service and quality.
Amazing food and beautiful restaurant! Staff very attentive and we even got a free fried ice cream to share because it was our first time! ?

I have been coming here for a very long time, your food is excellent but how your employee treated a family having dinner made me decide to go down the road to another place. We were sitting near them when your employee gave them their bill and said you ordered too much food so I charge you 20%. They she changes it to Oh well last time I gave you good service and you only gave me 10%. The poor shocked father says I've never tipped that low and you kept saying he did embarrassing him to the point when he says fine charge me what ever so I can leave. Then your manager came over and after talking to his wife she removed the 20% off the mandatory bill. Hearing this all, accusing a person of not tipping you 20% for good service. I am no longer going there and all my friends that do go there, I am recommending they avoid it.

We have lived across the street from Hanami since they opened 20 years ago. I lived in Japan and my wife lived in Hong Kong, so we know about Asian food. Hanami has never disappointed us — excellent food, relaxing atmosphere and great service. They also run an efficient take out. Highly recommended. I always end up ordering the pork shoguyaki… they have a truly excellent miso soup. Sometimes we order the sushi rice and miso soup as takeout for a side at home.
Kid-friendliness: Our kids grew up eating Hanami and love it. A very kid-friendly place to dine in too.
