“Welcoming staff. Clean, tempting arromatic ambiance. Practical well spaced seating. Lighting was easy not harsh on the eyes while music played unobtrusively in the background. People were talking without having to shout over the music. It's a very nice family oriented business.
Oh! It's sort of buffet style except they serve the food from behind a glass barricade.

“We didn't even know it was a jewish/kosher place when we stopped in, until we saw some of the other customers. We weren't sure it was the place for us but left happy. The 2 of us shared our plates: The burger was very good & much fresher than a lot of other places. The hot & sweet chicken sandwich w/ candied jalapenos was excellent. The french fries could maybe have used a little more salt but that's just my preference; they were nicely crispy on the outside & I really liked the garlic mayo that came w/ them (Husband stuck with the ketchup). The service was prompt & friendly. No complaints about that at all. Restaurant prices are all crazy high nowadays. So I'd have to say their prices were reasonable for high-end sandwiches. It's a nice, homey p[lace. I'd recommend it even if you're not a jew.“

“Usually their salads are delicious. But today i came by, right when they opened up (prob a mistake) and ordered a crispy chicken salad … My salad was done in about 5 mins …. ( how can chicken be cooked that fast?) Anyway, i tried to eat the salad for dinner. My croutons were stale, the bread was stale and tomatoes along with the cucumbers tasted like theve been sitting out from the night before. I doubt chicken was freshly made. I’m so disappointed. Next time i know not to come right when they open up.“

“I literally can’t believe how incredible the food was. This is what casual Chinese used to taste like back in the day. It was as if I was a child tasting boneless spare ribs and crab rangoon for the very first time.. The spare ribs were charred and tender and the rangoon was made with actual crab as opposed to the typical “crab flavored” cream cheese. The pork fried rice was also remarkably flavorful with large cubes of pork and perfectly cooked onion. Those who have complained about the food specifically must be miserable Karens. This is my new favorite casual Chinese spot. 10/10“

“Honestly glad that Olive Garden has maintained a consistent level of food and service quality over the years.

The place was packed, on a Sunday late afternoon/early evening.

The vibe was very "family dinner" and that's exactly what we had.

Kid-friendliness: The kids have a simple and fun menu. They also get the option of crayons with activity pages or games on a tablet.“

“We were a large party of 8 with no reservation for my son's birthday. We didn't have to wait for a table so that was amazing. The bar was backed up, so we got our salad before our drinks even though our drink orders were placed before our dinner orders. My mom and I both got the garganzola steak Alfredo dish. We were so looking forward to it, but it was over cooked so we were bummed. We didn't even take the left overs because they were too over cooked to reheat. We celebrated my son's 4th birthday, he said it was the best birthday ever 😆 so he loved his meal and the tablet at dinner.“

“We are new in the Hamden area, and were really unsure as to what China place we wanted to try, as the reviews for everything local was not great, so we both decided to try Gold Star and oh boy was it good, chkn broccoli, general chows and crab Rangoon. They were all fantastic, especially the crab Rangoon, nice and krispy and the filling was so good. We really appreciate it chef thank you! Will be back soon.“
