“Feels Like Home – Amazing Cantonese Food! Golden Palace in Connecticut is hands down one of the best Cantonese restaurants I’ve been to. Their dim sum is so authentic — just like the kind you’d get in Hong Kong or southern China. Everything is fresh, flavorful, and made with real care. What really makes this place special is the people. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming — every time I come here, I feel like I’m back home in China. It’s that kind of warm, family-style hospitality that’s hard to find these days. Whether you’re craving dim sum or a comforting Cantonese meal, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend!“

“I am not from the area and was in town to do some shopping. My boyfriend and I decided to try some takeout here instead of back at home. I am so glad we did. Don’t tell my local favorite takeout but China Express has the best crab Rangoon I’ve ever had. We also got sesame, chicken and General Tso chicken, lo mein, boneless spare ribs, and a couple of egg rolls. We ended up with more egg rolls than I expected. This is good because their eggrolls are excellent. They are so fresh and they are not greasy. The chicken dishes were also both very good. We got a ton of food for the money we spent and will be able to eat it again tomorrow. Thank you guys so much. We will be back next time we are shopping in New London.“

“Wok expressWhere do I even begin. I was a weak, lonely boy with nothing in my life to provide any sort of stimulation or reason to live. Everything changed when I decided to miserably stop by at this seemingly inconspicous, orthodox mall restaurant. Life could not have been any worse for me at the time, but it all changed as soon as I caught a whiff of the sweet, juicy, delicious orange chicken. Sitting on a sample platter was the shiny, golden, beautifully glazed piece of delectable chicken meat that had ever touched my mouth. I immediately passed out from how delicious the food was. I could not fathom how scrumptious that Chinese food tasted. I still think about it all the time. Back to when i first tasted the deliciousness of Wok Express. All day, every day, I think of wok express and the flavorful food. Anyway, I woke up on the floor of the mall and saw the Chinese man staring down at me, while still holding the platter of food. “Sir, you ok?” He asked me. But I didn’t not realize that he had spoken. In fact, I did not realize anything at all, except for Wok Express. It seemed like the Chinese food turned on some sort of hidden switch in my brain, where I finally understood why I was alive on this great green earth. To eat at Wok Express. Oblivious to everyone and everything but Wok Express, I staggered over to the counter, and saw the heaps of delicious treats waiting for me. My mouth watered as I stared down into the piles of Chicken, noodles, and various other delicacies. My dopamine levels were skyrocketing. My salivary glands were working overtime. My intestinal system was preparing for the boatloads of food I was about to shovel down. The lady at the counter looked confused as I ravenously stared down at the sources of sustenance. Quickly, I whipped out my wallet and took out a 100 dollar bill. “Give me the best you got,” I told them, still eyeing the gleaming glaze that sat upon the lightly fried, perfectly seasoned general Tao’s chicken. The delectable lo mein sat next to the chicken, waiting for me to devour their slippery, salty, sweet, appetizing golden brown deliciousness in a few quick moments. I loudly slammed the 100 dollar bill as the lady loaded up my plate with Mile high stacks of various different foods. Time seemed to slow down, as if fate was trying to stop me from consuming the life fuel that lay in front of me. My stomach growled with agony as I watched the lady pile up more and more food. The cosmic entities are playing with me, I thought. They didn’t want me to achieve enlightenment through Wok Express! Anger soon formed in the pit of my chest as I waited for the food. So far it seemed, but so close. After an eternity, I finally had my food ready. All my emotions dissipated as I later my hands on the side of the plate. Finally, after living all my life empty and without any motivation, finally, I found why I was alive. Why I was born into this world. My purpose in life. Every second I was not getting ready to munch on the heavenly Chinese food, my anticipation and dopamine would go berserk. I sat down as fast as lightning, set down the plate, and immediately started to eat. First, one at a time, a smal piece of orange chicken, a wonton, a dumpling, but gradually, the speed at which I engorged myself exponentially expanded. Oh, sweet delicious food! Why couldn’t I find you earlier in my life? Why did I have to live and wait so long to finally achieve what I needed in my miserable, wretched life? The taste was heavenly. That is the only way to describe it. Dropping the utensils, I resorted to using my bare hands to gobble down more food. I plunged my hands into the mixed colors of orange, golden, brown, and other of Chinese food. Pulling my fists out, I threw the food vigorously down my mouth, chomping like a wild beast feasting on his first meal of the winter. As I ate, I felt a connection in my brain. Everything made sense now. I felt as if I was hovering out of my body. I could see everybody bustling around the mall, people shopping. I had achieved omnipotence through Wok Express.“

“This food was delicious, not greasy and fresh. The donuts were delicious and the eggs tastes fresh every thing was a 5 star rating. I'm always iffy about ordering from the right place, you can tell these people have a clean and respectful familly and there food shows. I work in restaurants for over 20 years I only orders delivery but everything was an amazing experience. Definitely order from this place you will be happy you did. Worth the price. I was very satisfied. I live in New London and I'm happy I didn't ordered from a place near my house. This is the best, you will be happy.“

“Gave up on this place many years ago but decided to give it another try since it was getting good reviews on one of the Niantic social media groups.

Was happily surprised. Food is fabulous, service is fast and friendly. Love the convenience of ordering online and being able to pay at the counter.

Asked the woman behind the counter if ownership/staff was new to the place and she said no, it’s been about 6 years.
Wish I’d known this 6 yrs ago 😩

Now I’m hooked on their boneless ribs, pork fried rice and General Tso’s bean curd (tofu)

I know Chinese takeout is not exactly health food but the food here tastes so much less greasy and salty than others, even the egg rolls!

This is my new favorite local Chinese takeout place! If you haven’t tried it in the last 6 yrs, please do. You won’t be disappointed.“

“They have a few tables, but I've never seen anyone eating there.
It's (for me) primarily a take out place.
I found Golden Wok in the middle 90's when they were on Bayonet St. There menu and food quality hasn't changed in that 27 years.
I moved out of New London in 2003 and I travel back to Golden Wok at least 6 or 7 times a year.“

“This was the best buffet experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. I would go back every day of the week. $13 for some of the finest cuisine in all of New England. I would pay thousands. The service was splendid, if I could stay all day and eat all 3 meals I would. I have spent my last 5 paychecks on panda buffet and I do not regret it one bit. The crab rangoon is TO DIE for!!!“
