“(Note: This review is for the Albany Ave. location) This won't be a popular review. For decades my family would frequent Scott's Bakery. We loved everything that they offered (hardo bread, beef patty, coco bread, plantain tart and so on). When I said we liked EVERYTHING, I mean it. Everything was on point!! Yesterday was my first time (and last time) going into Scott's in about a decade plus. It is clear that management has changed (if not management, something has gone horribly wrong). The shell of the patty was beyond thick and there was little meat in it. The coco bread was beyond disgusting! It was a flavorless clump of undercooked dough. You know how coco bread is supposed to taste. It didn't taste like that at all. It seems as though they've cut corners on their peanut punch which had a gell-like texture. The BEST part of everything that I purchased was the Cola Champagne. As long as they continue to use the same distributor they can't mess that up. Maybe they had a bad day. I won't be spending money to find out.“

“Alright, there is no better Jerk Pork in the United States than Destiny Awaits. From the first bite, I felt like I had just swung by a jerk center in Port Antonio!

I have never tasted such truly authentic food in all of the United States. What was most interesting to me is that the jerk meats have the flavor of being smoked on Pimento wood, which I don't understand how they could have emulated in Hartford, CT.

If you are looking for real Jamaican food that truly sends you back home, you MUST stop here. It's an overwhelming 5* rating from me!“

“Reason why I went to Sunsplash bar and grill last night was the sunsplash on Maple avenue was closed so I went by there to get it by oxtail rice and peas salad oh my God it was so good. Also thier chicken wings are amazing the chicken meat falls off the bones. in the meat is jerked dark on the outside. I don't drink alcohol but they have a bar you can sit down and and they have a sitting area as well nice space nice place nice spot. I want to say hi to Danny and I want to say hi to Dwight and I want to say hi to Sophie.“

“I was disappointed because the servings of food are not consistent, one server makes sure to ask what you need and the food is good but the next server the following week really disappoint the rice was swimming in gravy it was so bad that it looked like dog food and I guess she didn't care about great service because the oxtails had 6 of the smallest pieces of oxtails that I have seen; this was so disappointing it felt like I had begged for some food. “Red pea soup on Saturdays.? Arrive before 3pm or else.....? Stewed peas...it's criminal how good this dish is. Perfectly salty. And the porridge....the cornmeal porridge coupled with fried dumplings. I dip mine into the porridge. Inappropriate, right?? The. Peanut. Porridge. Amazing ?? Reasonable prices and friendly service. “We had the pleasure of trying Lux’s Restaurant and Café for the first time through Too Good To Go, and it was an amazing experience! The portions were incredibly generous—so much food for such a great price. We had the oxtails, and they were absolutely delicious. As first-timers to Caribbean food, we were blown away by the flavors. The sides and rice were plentiful and perfectly complemented the main dish. On top of the fantastic food, the staff were kind and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. We’ll definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommend!“

“The staff (Antoinette) was so very calm, patient and courteous as we attempted to call in an order for three people while driving.

Her handling our various questions related to our orders; all while serving in-person customers was impressive!! She was fantastic as well as the other staff. Would certainly recommend this restaurant!“

“The food is great, well seasoned, and cooked. The cook knows exactly what he is doing.
Customer service needs work, a little more, and greet customers. Also, paying for a bag is crazy we need a bag to stop the gravy from leaking all over our car/clothes.
Food presentation needs work, jerk, and stew chicken needs to be cut into smaller portions, including the yams.
Overall, the food is excellent, the restaurant is clean, bathroom clean. I will definitely recommend this spot.“

“They have the best curry chicken! The pepper steak is also phenomenal. Above all, their fried chicken is outstanding. Those are the only things I’ve ever gotten but their food is the best in the area! I forgot, their fried dumpling and ackee breakfast is also the best.“
