“I ordered a coconut cake with a lime curd filling for my husband’s birthday and it was beautiful and absolutely delicious! It was honestly one of the best cakes I’ve ever had. I tip my hat to the excellent baker at the Bakehouse. The cake easily fed 25 people with a little leftover to have with my coffee the next morning! Sheer perfection.“

“WOW! I placed a takeout order and was completely blown away by how good it was. I ordered the drunken noodles with scallops and asked for them Thai hot—and they absolutely delivered on the spice level.

I really appreciate that, because sometimes restaurants seem hesitant to make a dish truly spicy. Not here! If you love heat, you’ll be very happy.

Side note, I think someone made a mistake and put someone else food in my bag. It was a cocanut chicken dish that I did not order. I was already 30 minutes away when I noticed it so I guess I'll try that for lunch tomorrow. I'll be back!“

“Not a wine person. But had to post what a great place and experience this place is. So cool inside and outside. Great whites. I had a whole bottle of Riesling after the flight tasting. All of the whites are delicious. We will be back. Awesome experience.“

“have been to Brinx twice. Both times I had the everything bagel with cheese, egg and bacon. The bagel is slightly toasted and is both soft and tasty. They give plenty of cheese and plenty of bacon for the very reasonable price of $7.00, which is unmatched anywhere. The young man who serves is friendly and pleasant. The place looks a bit dusty but the tables are clean and the coffee is very good. I highly recommend this place.“

“I'm a Field Tech from Western MA. A friend of mine took me to Jimmy's 45 years ago. Torrington is a ways to go, but I take jobs there just so I can go to Jimmy's. In 45 years little has changed, especially the quality of the prepared foods. I was raised on Italian food, and this is as good as it gets. I have a job in Torrington tomorrow. See you for lunch, and get something special for Sunday dinner. And the staff there is a joy as well.“

“Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The building is gorgeous- ask for a tour, they will gladly accommodate. This is a wonderful place and space for functions. Always a good time, great beer varieties and wine.“

“First time I’ve been here. Most everything was excellent. Amongst things I had was a hibachi combo with broccoli. The sauce was a little “too much” in terms of thickness/sweetness/quantity, but not bad. I requested the broccoli to be cooked soft and it came out excellent ! (Thanks)

“They make the greatest croissants, English muffin bread and bacon egg and cheeses. She makes the croissants and English muffin bread from scratch, and uses the thickest bacon around on her sandwiches. Everyday there’s something new in the baked goods case, and I never regret getting it (cough cough carrot cake cheese cake coffee cake) 🤤. Love hearts is truly a hidden gem“

“So I have to give so much praise to this winery. First off Jeff is absolutely amazing. I reached out to him back in Feburary asking about using the winery to get married in April and Jeff was so easy to talk to and was so easy to make plans with so I had the best day. Second off a huge shoutout to the staff of the winery. I was married on April 13th 2024 and it was rainy, windy, and incredibly cold. They let us get married on their deck and out of the rain no questions asked. I went back today on 4/15 to pick up a bottle of wine because I want to have it to drink on my one year wedding anniversary of a wonderful memory of the beautiful place we got married at. The ladies behind the bar were so kind and helped me pick the best wine to my liking. Thank you so much for giving me a beautiful place to get married and a beautiful place to have created beautiful memories with those I love the most. Thank you again Jeff and crew for making this bride incredibly happy. ***Edit to add I got married April of 2024. My feelings are still the same about this beautiful establishment.***“

“We have been to Uncommon many times and the food is always amazing and we have always had a great experience all around but I want to say we had the absolute best service here tonight so I wanted to thank our server Justin D. for an outstanding dining experience tonight. Justin was professional and has a really fun personality. Even though the restaurant was crazy busy we never had to ask for anything, Justin was just there anytime we needed anything. The support staff also did an amazing job tonight as well keeping the table clear of empty glasses and dishes and running food. Just an over all lovely experience.“

“Overall, the food was good, but there were a few things that affected my experience.

I felt quite unwell after eating there, which unfortunately put a damper on the meal. Also, while the option to choose two side dishes sounds generous, the portions were actually quite small.

I personally didn’t enjoy the vegetables, as they had a slightly sour taste. I was also a little surprised that some of the food was served in plastic dishes, especially considering the price point of the restaurant.

Overall, the food itself was good, but I expected a bit more in terms of portions and presentation for the price.“

“A big thanks to the staff at Marty's! I left my planner there over the weekend and they mailed it to me and refused to let me pay for the postage. I don't live close to Marty's, but whenever I'm close by, I stop by for the tasty food (I enjoyed the wheat berry salad this time!) and the friendly atmosphere.“
