Not what it used to be. The prior owners had terrific pizza and ran a great restaurant. We were regulars there every Friday night. The pizza here now is so-so and the restaurant no longer serves beer or wine.

Until the quality of the pizza declined, we were regular take-out customers. After a number of years passed, we decided to give Red Tomato another try. Afterall, their attractive web page made everything look so appetizing we were anxious to place an order and dive into our pizza .MISTAKE. Plain pizza was just that - plain and dry. The white mozz was equally as tasteless and it too, was dry. We're back to putting Red Tomato back on the "do not order from" list.

The house special pizza here is excellent. It is a white pizza with cheese garlic basil and fresh tomatoes. The crust is thin and crispy. We also enjoy the house salad.

People here commenting saying the pizza is amazing either have horrible taste in pizza or they are holding onto what the place used to be years ago. I used to love this place, I even worked there as a teenager. Chuck, the former owner used to work at Pepe’s and learned his pizza making from the best. The Red Tomato used to be one of the best pizza places on the shoreline and even competed with some of New Haven’s finest. These new owners utterly destroyed what once was an amazing pizza and turned it into garbage. It’s sad to see what happened to the place.

$35.00 for this pizza?!!! Large cheese is $14.00. $8.50 to add chicken and $10.00 for spinach and garlic! REALLY?Did you notice there is a 2”-3” band around the edge with NO toppings?$18.50 for toppings? Medium pizza toppings no less on a large pizza?Never again!

I ordered a chicken, garlic and spinach large pizza. $35! There was barely any topping on the pizza. I won’t be back
