Guida's is a classic 50s American diner with a scrappy vibe, complete with a walk-up window during the summer. The atmosphere offers a step back to a simpler time, with stools at a counter and 4-person booths. Outdoor seating includes eight picnic tables. The staff are great, and the owner is very friendly and always smiling. Service is efficient, though sometimes mechanical or not that attentive. The footlong hot dog and bun are both grilled, and the fries are hot right from the oil. A 1/4 lb burger is cooked perfectly. The chili dog is ok, but chili can be sparse and the hot dog skinny. Onion rings are very good. Top off a meal with a sweet ice cream treat, like a strawberry shake that is not cloyingly sweet. The ice cream is great on a hot day. Prices are comparable for like establishments, though some find food very pricey. Note: They only accept cash, but have an ATM for customer convenience. It is a great place to stop for a hotdog and fries without feeling uncomfortable while enjoying the company of others.
