Cask Republic is a great meeting spot in the heart of New Haven. I have been there for small groups, just meeting friends, all the way to a full restaurant rental for a large corporate event and everything in between. The staff and bartenders are always friendly, but more importantly really know the beer. They will spend time helping you get the right selection and seem to really care whether you like it or not. Oh - and the food is pretty darn good too. Love this place!

We stopped mid day on a Saturday and it was not busy which during this Covid time was ok with me. The beer selection was good. We ordered some appetizers and this was the disappointing part. The large pretzel for $9 was not that big and the $23 charcuterie board was sparse. It wouldn't have cost them much more to put a little more cheese, bread or crackers and maybe a whole apple along with the other things. It was barely enough for 2 people but there was 4 of us. I ate here after a long day of driving. We got a few beers. The draft menu was pretty decent, some pretty funky stuff on there (kombucha ginger?). I got the spicy chicken wrap. The wrap wasn’t what I’d hoped it to be. The fried bit sloughed off and got soggy with all the other ingredients. The overall flavor was just missing something (what it was I’m not sure).
