Had a wonderful time! My bf and I went here for Vday 2026. Ivan was our server and he was amazing, so kind and funny, we had some good chats. Service was slow which was to be expected due to the rush of Vday (and our res was for 8:45 pm), Ivan was very on top of everything and even gave us free wine for our patience and understanding! The slowness didn't bother us at all either way, so that was a nice surprise! Seriously cannot recommend him enough.

Heirloom is such a sure bet for pre-Theatre, post lecture, or special occasion dinner. The food is excellent, the service is great, the menu is an imaginative, and the bar serves up a great variety of wines, beers, cocktails, and mocktails. The ambience is very pleasant and it is a beautiful space. This is a strong recommendation for a very solid dining experience in downtown New Haven

Our day started off rough, but Ishmael completely turned it around. He was the highlight of our visit to New Haven — warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He introduced us to new flavors and spirits we never would’ve tried on our own. His energy and hospitality turned an average stop into a memorable experience. If you’re here, do yourself a favor and sit at Ishmael’s bar.
