This was at least my third time eating at Heirloom and I've never eaten anything that wasn't delicious and the food is always expertly prepared. And I love the dining room...bright, warm and unique.
I ordered kale salad with salmon. I requested that my salmon be cooked rare. The salad was overly acidic, and the salmon was cooked ‘well done'. I did not complain in that the purpose of being there was to talk with my friend. The restaurant was pleasantly quiet and lovely in all other ways. I think that perhaps our server did not understand my request.
Thanksgiving day meal so they get a pass for being really loud. Food was average but the server was nice. Value wasn't the best for comparison to other places we visited in New Haven. The accompanying food with the scallops was horrible and plates in an unappealing way. But the scallops themselves were good. Mac and cheese yum and steak cooked perfectly but that's about it.
