MofonGo Reviews
We’ve been a few times and had a decent experience experience. However ordered takeout twice recently and the menu online does not match what they offer in store which is disappointing. The takeout portions were very small compared to the price. Ordered takeout most recently on Friday and we all got food poisoning. The chicken was also tasteless which is disappointing given that usually Puerto Rican chicken is much more flavorful. Definitely do not recommend.
I've been there twice and will definitely go again. I just wish they weren't always out of flan, but the tres leches cake is very good 😊
They don't have good hospitality! He don't even ask what u want and assume everyone wants yellow rice without asking and then u tell him that's not what I wanted he said why I didn't say so and I told him why u didn't asked??
Bad service and attitude but had to be the better person!!
Bad hospitality

Based on the reviews, MofonGo is a great quiet place to eat, especially in the heat. It is a funky basement restaurant with an inviting interior, nice ambience, and decor that is a whole vibe. The service is great, very friendly and patient. The food is authentic Puerto Rican food, described as the best since moving to New Haven and tasting like a home cooked meal that hits the spot. Specific meals mentioned include alcapurrias with plenty of meat, Morongo, Carne frita, shrimp, and pulled pork mofonogs, all very tasty. The carne frita mofongo is crispy but not hard, and the pernil is good. The chimichuri is a favorite sauce. Take out is consistently good, though some orders have been lacking toppings. It can get expensive depending on the selection, but the taste is great.
