A home away from “home”. A necessity and lifesaver when visiting relatives and staying with them locally in this basically disgusting and rotten quirky, creative and Artsy community including many historic disgusting feeble minded vintage car collectors?☢️. Which unfortunately has more in common with similar communities out west or Marfa Tx or inner-state, and offers little else in comparison to Essex, Old Saybrook or Mystic which are steps away from coastal New England...read full review

Very nice place. We always stop for dinner here after our Events at the Florence Griswald art museum. We were cold and wet from being rained out today. Had Hot Chocolate and an Excellent Seafood Bisque followed by the Flounder and Chips dinner. 2 large pieces of Flounder, I could not finish it in one sitting.

Wow, is what we experienced at this hidden gem of dinning at Hideaway Restaurant & Pub!!!!My husband, Michael and I were particularly looking for a local best at a new place where we would enjoy after our regular hang out at Rocky Neck beach state park. And we have found It here!!!Cindy answered the phone each time I called to make reservation for 2 then called back to move it up since we backed up early and got hungrier than we thought.We chose to sit at the bar for a good view...read full review
