“It's always a pleasure stopping by to get my spinach patties every week. Today Shernette took my order over the phone while Arline prepared it and ensured that I didn't have to wait long upon arriving.
Kree does the baking and is always willing to put some extra spinach patties in the oven when they are running low.
Ms. Yvonne and AnnMarie are very pleasant and polite.
The staff at Golden Krust really do make me feel like they care.“

“I've been hearing so many great things about this spot that I just had to visit. The location is small & hard to miss. It's a 'Grab & Go' so there's no indoor seating, however there are two outdoor tables if you absolutely need to eat on site.
The staff is friendly and accommodating. They gave me plenty of recommendations for how to order vegan.
The food was AMAZING. Bursting with flavor, color, & spice. They also have plenty of vegan options, so I will return. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area.“

Full review- Just found out about this gem and had to try it. As a connoisseur of Caribbean cuisine it is our mission to try and review every restaurant we can in the area.
Apparently, they’ve been open for a few months but we weren’t aware. Found them on a google maps search at 5.05pm on Saturday. The listing said they closed at 5pm. On a whim called the phone number immediately and pleaded with them to stay open for pick up. The kind lady replied that she was planning to be open for another couple of hours. So I jumped in the car and headed over there quickly.
We ordered variety of dishes :
- Chicken jerk chicken
- Curry goat
- Oxtail
The jerk chicken was running out so we completed the order with a little bit of stew chicken.
All the dishes were very good.
The rice and peas were truly special - Perhaps an extra dose of Love❤️
The Stew chicken was also outstanding.
We will be ordering all these dishes again.
The location is incredibly convenient. it is on College Street literally a block from Main Street.
Middletown is emerging us a culinary destination, and this lovely cozy Jamaican spot really elevates the game.
The food is good. The people are wonderful. the location is fantastic.
Parking: Plenty of parking- street, garage.

“I got lucky and found this spot near my job and two days in a row all I have to say is this food feeds my soul. You HAVE to get the wings but if you like seafood their salmon and shrimp hits the spot. Definitely make sure you stop by here. They share the entrance with the barbershop in case you get confused on the entrance.“

“I ordered yellow rice N beans, potato ball, mango drink, guava dessert and some another dessert. The food is absolutely AMAZING!!! The potato ball was on point! Best I've ever had from anywhere. The drink was made perfecto! The rest of the food was cooked to a T..I go here often but today i bought more options and I'm glad I did. Kudos to y'all!!!! “Alright, there is no better Jerk Pork in the United States than Destiny Awaits. From the first bite, I felt like I had just swung by a jerk center in Port Antonio!
I have never tasted such truly authentic food in all of the United States. What was most interesting to me is that the jerk meats have the flavor of being smoked on Pimento wood, which I don't understand how they could have emulated in Hartford, CT.
If you are looking for real Jamaican food that truly sends you back home, you MUST stop here. It's an overwhelming 5* rating from me!“

“Reason why I went to Sunsplash bar and grill last night was the sunsplash on Maple avenue was closed so I went by there to get it by oxtail rice and peas salad oh my God it was so good. Also thier chicken wings are amazing the chicken meat falls off the bones. in the meat is jerked dark on the outside. I don't drink alcohol but they have a bar you can sit down and and they have a sitting area as well nice space nice place nice spot. I want to say hi to Danny and I want to say hi to Dwight and I want to say hi to Sophie.“

“I was disappointed because the servings of food are not consistent, one server makes sure to ask what you need and the food is good but the next server the following week really disappoint the rice was swimming in gravy it was so bad that it looked like dog food and I guess she didn't care about great service because the oxtails had 6 of the smallest pieces of oxtails that I have seen; this was so disappointing it felt like I had begged for some food. WOW“

“I went there today and I loved it. I ordered online for the first time and the food that I received was too spicy for me to eat; the owner Mark, was so accommodating and understanding. He replaced my food. I know that's very rare and a loss to him but I'm so grateful about the way he handled things. He also took the time to speak with me and get to know me. Business owners don't do that anymore. If ever I'm in Hartford, I'm coming here for my Jamaican food. The food is actually really really good! I'm not even joking. I can see why this business was packed when I walked in. Y'all need to go here if you're ever in the area!!!“

“They have the best curry chicken! The pepper steak is also phenomenal. Above all, their fried chicken is outstanding. Those are the only things I’ve ever gotten but their food is the best in the area! I forgot, their fried dumpling and ackee breakfast is also the best.“

“Really good authentic food, friendly staff, and overall great atmosphere, very clean, and recommend it very much. Veggie options, warm good quality food and did not feel like fast food but an actual home cooked meal.
