Walked into this place as it was closing and all the lights were already turned off. The owner was so accommodating - he let us use the restroom and turned the lights and music back on while we made some purchases. Very cool, laid back atmosphere, with good music and lots of food choices. We bought snacks and didn't get to try any of the sandwiches or coffee, but will definitely come back when in the area again. Place was very clean and organized.
If you live in the area, this is a surprisingly nice and quiet place to meet with friends. You can get sandwiches from the deli, ice cream at the designated counter, coffee from the coffee bar, and a variety of snacks and pastries. You can even do some grocery shopping but you a) will be paying a mark up and b) remember some items don't have the same turnover you'd find at a grocery store. When I discovered Roxbury Market in the eighties, it soon became one of my favorite destinations. I lived in Bethel, but I’d drive up to Roxbury several times a week for sandwiches. It was remodeled sometime in the nineties, and the small back room had tables to enjoy meals with friends.
