“When I discovered Roxbury Market in the eighties, it soon became one of my favorite destinations. I lived in Bethel, but I’d drive up to Roxbury several times a week for sandwiches. It was remodeled sometime in the nineties, and the small back room had tables to enjoy meals with friends. We’d meet there by Jeep, motorcycle, or whatever and sit for an hour sharing a great sandwich, coffee and soft drinks. I moved to Florida in 2004 and miss the Marketplace. But we manage to visit at least once a year when we come back to Roxbury in autumn.”

“My husband and I tried Bora Restaurant for the first time last night. It was excellent!! The food was delicious, the decorations were beautiful, the atmosphere was warm and cozy, all of the staff that we encountered were young but surprisingly all so very well mannered, polite and very nice!! Our waiter was Alton, he did a wonderful job and always addressed my husband as Sir. We would definitely recommend this restaurant!!”

“Absolute BEST Lebanese restaurant I’ve ever been to! Authentic dishes. Sooooo incredibly flavorful! You feel like a part of the family once you walk through those doors - make sure to taste the lamb special (my all time favorite!!) - it’s the owner’s grandma’s recipe and OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! (I don’t even like lamb but THIS dish is ABSURDLY delicious!!!) pay special attention to the huge pink pen at the register - haha my company pen!!”

“This was such an adorable place. It felt like a local spot found in the Hallmark movies. Recently had brunch with my daughter at The Sandy Hook Café. It was an absolute delight from start to finish. Nestled in the heart of Sandy Hook, CT this cafe exudes a cozy yet vibrant charm, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing brunch. We chose the booth by the front window box that was sweetly decorated for the holiday. There were couple other booths, a high-top table, and several two/four-top tables. Tiny space but a gigantic, interesting menu. Good for takeout as well. There is a small outdoor seating area overlooking the river. We were greeted by Ralph, the owner/chef. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. He proudly described all of the interesting specials (his own creations) and it was difficult to decide as they all sounded simply wonderful. We went with the blackened eggs benedict with salmon special, and the breakfast burrito. All fresh ingredients, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. It’s an inviting space where you can linger over your meal without a care in the world. Sandy Hook Café is a hidden gem that’s worth every penny. I will definitely be becoming a regular.”

“Amai Sushi has the best quality fish and seafood in Brookfield! Amber, the owner is wonderful. She takes time to suggest and explain offerings. I recently had the pleasure of the 10 course Omekase. What a beautiful a scrumptious meal! A birthday treat from a dear friend. Definitely worth the splurge. Buttery sushi, delicious uni (sea urchin roe) and a small piece of highest quality Kobe beef. Great king crab and avocado appetizer and scallop hand roll. Caramel custard dessert. Delicious chilled plum wine. Worth the splurge!”

“Wife and I went out to dinner and as usual food was on point. Base menu is always good and they always have a seasonal menu of great options. I tried the smoked old fashion and it was a home run. They put on the whole show and smoked the drink right at the table. Definitely not a disappointment. They always have seasonal drinks and come up and ask how they were. Lots of care in the food and drinks they put on the menu.”

“I don’t know what they changed, but suddenly their pizza is out of this world! I have been eating at Miranda’s for 25 years. It has always been good food quality, But I don’t know if they got a new chef or changed the recipe, but the pizza is Travel worthy, meaning is worth driving an hour. The staff is wonderful. The building is old, but they have remodeled it and it kind of adds to the atmosphere.”

I just filled out a form and she quickly got back to me via my preferred method of contact (text! which I love!) and we worked out a banana cream birthday cake for my brother because last year my attempt was horrific.
