The Bakery of Southbury

Usually this is our go to bakery for birthday cakes and event cakes . Our favorite go to is typically vanilla with whip cream and pudding filling with fruit inside. I decided to come here for my sons first birthday cake and I requested that we did “dancing fruit” aka Hey bear youtube baby sensory cake with chocolate mouse flavor. Not only was it delicious but it was absolutely adorable and beautiful!! Words can not describe how happy and excited everyone was with this cake including my 1year old son. I would highly recommend to everyone. Thank you again to the bakers and cake designer for this beautiful cake❤️

The is a wonderful little bakery. Not only is everything delicious and impeccably made, but the staff are wonderful. They are all knowledgeable and very kind.

Vegetarian options: The Bakery is entirely vegetarian from what I could see. Vegan might be tougher, but vegetarian options are plentiful.

Parking: There is plenty of parking. It is a small shopping plaza with a lot for a few stores, but I’ve been there a few times and never had any difficultly finding a spot.

Kid-friendliness: The Bakery is very kid friendly with a blend of fun, brightly colored items as well as more naturally decorated or undecorated items that may be more visually appealing to adults but will taste just as yummy as the colorful ones.

Wheelchair accessibility: The Bakery is wheelchair accessible. There is a fairly long ramp from the parking area, but a chair user can get there on their own.

They baked the most delicious and beautiful wedding cake for us!! Vanilla buttercream with strawberry filling. Guests were raving about it.

I stopped in yesterday on my way to a hike in Kent. I picked up a chocolate muffin, 3 small pies, and the lemon cheesecake. I would like to say, each one was delicious. The lemon cheesecake in particular, was perfectly balanced with the topped lemon filling and was not too sweet. Nice single serving size for a person.

Ordered a carrot cake for Easter dinner. Rich buttercream frosting spread over a dense delicious carrot cake, loaded with chopped nuts and plump juicy raisins. Beautifully decorated with carrots made of icing on top for the season! Lines were long for pick up but the customers were respectful and patient. Employees were cheerful and efficient. Truly deserving of 5 stars!

Yum! Yum! Yum!!The cinnamon bread!! I stopped in today - my daughter lives in town; there was a lovely lady there named Mary ( realtor- introduced herself) and suggested the cinnamon bread and she wasn’t kidding !! Delicious!!! I’ll be stopping there on my weekly visits to my daughter!!!

Their choices were limited. I purchased a blueberry and an apple turnover. The first bite was dry and flavorless. I thought perhaps the filling would saw the experience but was supposed to find both flavors treated like canned filling. Syrupy and gross. Such a disappointment.

Got a custom made cake for my baby’s first snowflake themed birthday. I was absolutely in love with how it turned out to be. It looked beautiful just as I wanted it to be and tasted great! Loved the perfect sweetness of the cake.

It’s a family tradition to buy the nut and apricot strips at Christmas time. These strips are amazing!!!!! Moist and fully packed with delicious fillings. Highly recommended!!!!

Delicious breads, cakes, pastries and amazing donuts. They need to start making a few gluten-free things. Too many people out there that have allergies to gluten

I love this place! The fresh made donuts are fantastic (my favorite is the glazed Kettletown). They nail the classics that you expect from a good bakery. I’ve also placed some custom orders for cakes/cupcakes and have been very satisfied.
