This is an absolute gem of a Japanese market. We are avowed Japanophiles, and this market almost always has what we're looking for. There's always something new and interesting to try. The prepared food is excellent. Upstairs is a small area dedicated to kitchenwares and cosmetics. This is a fairly small space, but the variety and overall quality reminds me of the large and justifiably famous food courts you'll find throughout Japan. The employees are courteous and attentive. It's just a thoroughly fun place to do our weekly shopping.
Good place but you gotta put more filling in the onigiri. Paid 3$ for pure rice with a hint of salmon😒.
I love this Japanese supermarket. It’s a great place for fresh produce, freshly made meals including delicious and affordable sushi, and any other Asian foods and products that you can’t normally find at regular grocery stores. Maruichi is consistently very well stocked and affordable and has two floors, one for food items and one for houseware/toys/beauty items/other merchandise. I definitely recommend stopping by, especially if you are looking for unique snacks as well as great produce. I used to get the most amazing fresh lychees here, but unfortunately, they don’t sell them anymore, hopefully in the future! Lots of love to the staff as well 🙏
Love their sushi
It was my first time trying out Sushi in this place and I loved it!!!! I can’t wait to come back!!!
I’ve been here many times. Very bad experience today with the white man cashier. He was very rude and I hate to think it’s because I’m black but it sure felt like it. I left all my items at the cash register because I can’t spend my hard earned money in a place I feel disrespected in. Very unfortunate.
I wish this place delivered because their food quality and pricing is outrageous!(in a good way!) Im so happy with the prepared foods I purchased plus I was able to stock up on other grocery items I enjoy so I can make at home poke bowls. It had free parking right outside and the store itself was clean and shelves were stocked. I wish it was closer to my home but I plan to make trips there at least once a month to stock up!
I have been shopping there for a while and spend $100-200 when I stay on weekend , a week ago , a miso kit was opened when I brought home, naturally, I did not want to give my children and brought back today with a recipe. The store and manager refused to exchange or give me $8.00 store credits to spend additional $100 on today’s purchase, my gas money is more than $8.00 and plus my weekly shopping . They kept saying there is no return.. this is just one of bad management skill and not supporting local customers. It’s very disappointing and now they lost a weekly customer
When there is quality issue from your products , it’s the store responsibility to make it right for the customer . It’s a very unfortunate situation.
Used to be a big fan. But the last two times the overpriced salmon sashimi smelled like nasty tuna can and was full of fish bones! Seriously?! A little effort?!
Not coming back.
I used to going to a bigger japanese supermarket in nj with a food court but i love this place! The fried chicken is really good and so was the bubble tea. They have good sushi rolls sometimes too(tuna).staff are cool owner is too!
Restaurantji Recommends
Good customer service: helpful and friendly. The sushi is reasonably priced and tastes good; the rice is nice and crisp. My fav is California rolls; always go there for that. I have gotten the tuna and the spicy tuna at different times for somebody else and he enjoyed it. I like to get their pickled ginger from the refrigerated area (it's a lot of ginger and delicious); not the pink version. The sushi rice I bought; haven't cooked it yet. I did try a frozen breaded chicken (?); wouldn't recommend it—bland and suspicious. Bottled Jalanese water (☢️: who knows?); nope, bought it back unopened.
First time there today. Very clean, great options, fresh food, nice people. The snacks and food I got were delicious! And the girl who checked me out was very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be back
Finally found a place that has everything that I use to eat when I lived in Asia. And the staff is incredible. I will definitely be coming back and will be a regular here!
Good Asian market, rice balls make a lovely lunch.
