Closed and sold. A new West Indian restaurant is now in business at this location.
Horrible, i will never go back there again. I ordered oxtail and rice and peas. I got two pieces of oxtail and a plate full of rice and peas. I spoke to a short man who im assuming is the owner. And he was so disrespectful said oxtail is very expensive and if i dont want it someone else will buy it. Alot of people buy it and dont complain. The most he can do is give me one more piece of oxtail.

The photo says it all. It was delicious.
Friendly and good
The staff was very pleasant and the food was great. Inside was super clean, freshly painted with calm music playing. Visiting from NY and some other visitors recommended Berties. Definitely a must if your in Waterbury.
They keep their restaurant so clean and the food is always hot J*** chicken I recommend ✔️???

I was told Bertie’s had the best authentic Jamaican ??food. So I went to give it try!Oxtails Fresh✔️ Rice was good ✔️ beef patty hot ✔️ overall the food experience was 10/10. Clean restaurant with fresh food. JUST TO ADD, the pineapple coconut ? cake, is to die for ! Cake is fluffy & tasteful. Remained me of island island.
OMG! I have not had ackee and salt fish in so long and I am so glad I found this little gem. It was so delicious and a great price too, worth the trip from Meriden. I will definitely be back.
I’ve been eating at Bertties since 1998 Love it
One of the best Jamaican Restaurants in Waterbury. Good food & great price. 10/10!
