Tucked away in the back roads of what I call the little Italy of Waterbury is this little bakery that provides authentic Italian baked goods, cheeses, dried meat and other treats. I was pleasantly surprised by the family run business that serves great food and I hope it stays in business a very long time! Oh, I stopped by to pick up Pizzagaina for Easter that was recommended by a Facebook friend. Definitely going back!!!
This bakery is wonderful. I called on a Wednesday afternoon to ask if they could make a tiramisu birthday cake for my boyfriends 30th birthday on Friday. I called EVERY SINGLE bakery in the area (I'm in Northfield area) including Bristol, Southington, Farmington, Danbury, and Avon. I'm awful to wait last minute to order a specialty cake and i was about to give up and get an ice cream cake but I called them and they seriously came through. They make the best taralli! And they make many different varieties of taralli. My favorite are the ones with fennel. But they also have red pepper, pepper. There are so many varieties I can't remember them all. Some have a sugar frosting. I eat them like that but they go great with a beer or a glass of wine.
