Portobello is perhaps the finest restaurant in West Hartford. Unlike the trendy restaurants in town which cater to a younger crowd, the moderate noise level here is from subdued conversation in a smallish physical space. The other places, with low ceilings and no sound attenuation, make conversation difficult if not impossible. The food, prepared by the owner/chef, is carefully prepared and delicious. When he visits diners and asks how they are enjoying their meals,he sincerely...

Stuffed sole was incredible. Plenty of Crabmeat stuffing, the sole was tender, flaky and moist. Delicious potato and veggies as the side.
We also enjoyed the veal alla casa. The veal was juicy and easy to cut, joined by sun dried tomatoes and mashed potatoes. Absolutely delicious. A glass of Chianti Classico
was the perfect pairing.
