“Randomly stumbled upon Gaetanos in Westport yesterday when looking for a place to get sandwiches before my son’s baseball game. Having grown up in Belmont Little Italy for the first 22 years of my life I was skeptical about the “Arthur Ave style..” claim on the sign. Well I can tell you they delivered and then some! Was warmly greeted, handled samples of delicious cheeses and more. They were too skeptical when I said I grew up on Arthur Ave but once we started chatting they knew I wasn’t BSing. Saw familiar faces and reminisced about life on Arthur Ave. The owners are warm and kind - the real deal keeping it true to the Arthur Ave spirit. Dare I say they might even do it better!! I can’t say enough about the excellent food and service. If I ever find myself in Westport again I will certainly make a visit! Aside from my son’s team’s win, this nostalgic experience truly made my day and made me feel like I was back home in the Bronx when life was more simple. And yes, everything we ordered and sampled was delicious! No skin on the eggplant and bread from Addeo - doesn’t get any better!“

“We just had lunch at Elvira's today. The sandwiches were DELICIOUS. I had the hot dog with sauerkraut and onions, my sister had the portabella mushrooms and mozzarella sandwich, my husband had BLT and my brother-in-law had tuna salad. Crunchy onion rings and Joey's famous fries were super good. Everything was delicious. It was easy to order on line and our "server" Sam treated us like family. Great service, easy to order, the food was yummy and we ate it by the beach. What could be better?“

My friends and I cycle all over Stamford, New Canaan, Pound Ridge, Darien, and more …and about half the time they insist that we stop at “mother‘s” (as they call it) before we head to our respective homes. We always get rolls with egg, cheese, broccoli rabe, and bacon …and pancakes …and coffee and it’s definitely heaven.

“Every time we go into the deli we are greeted nicely. The egg sandwich are always great with fresh rolls. In terms of price I’m not sure why people are complaining, everywhere is dealing with inflation. Prices will never be what they were 5 years ago. “I love Aux delices, have for many many years, both in Greenwich and now in Westport. Food is delicious but I do have to say that when I buy the turkey burger, which is super yummy, 1 out of 5 times it is undercooked and I have to throw it into the garbage. Parking: Only thing is, it’s kind of hidden in a building. You have to take a right as soon as you walk in. So no parking , street parking if you find some. I like to walk there instead.“

“I have always driven up Hope Street and gone past this deli. Well, this week I finally stopped in. I ordered a chicken cutlet (My go-to deli sandwich) on a wedge with cheese, tomatoes and ketchup and mayo. First things first: they made a QUALITY QUALITY sandwich. The cutlet has a nice crisp to it, and was not dry but juicy. The breading was not overwhelming but just right. The cheese, bacon , tomato all meshed well. Nothing was too loose or too messy. Second the customer service was great. A great atmosphere to walk into. Its always nice when you are greeted by a smile, conversation and to see that person behind the counter is actually enjoying themselves.I went back again to try out their meatball parm. On. The. Money. The meatballs are fresh and REAL. I am simple so I did not doctor this particular sandwich up much, but it was good for me and can be for you too.I recommend Ron's Deli if you want a great sandwich, great service, great prices. The staff is polite but when some leaves the door open it can get to hot or cold so of course they need to say something we were not raised in a barn door.
