“Randomly stumbled upon Gaetanos in Westport yesterday when looking for a place to get sandwiches before my son’s baseball game. Having grown up in Belmont Little Italy for the first 22 years of my life I was skeptical about the “Arthur Ave style..” claim on the sign. Well I can tell you they delivered and then some! Was warmly greeted, handled samples of delicious cheeses and more. They were too skeptical when I said I grew up on Arthur Ave but once we started chatting they knew I wasn’t BSing. Saw familiar faces and reminisced about life on Arthur Ave. The owners are warm and kind - the real deal keeping it true to the Arthur Ave spirit. Dare I say they might even do it better!! I can’t say enough about the excellent food and service. If I ever find myself in Westport again I will certainly make a visit! Aside from my son’s team’s win, this nostalgic experience truly made my day and made me feel like I was back home in the Bronx when life was more simple. And yes, everything we ordered and sampled was delicious! No skin on the eggplant and bread from Addeo - doesn’t get any better!“

“My parents in Redding ordered 7 extra large pizzas on Dec 30th - cheese, pepperoni, vegetable, and white w/chicken to feed extended family in town. “Any deli that offers chicken cutlet, meatballs, cheese, and jalapeños deserves high praise. The sandwich menu was designed by people who live, breathe, and love making masterpieces. Even hungry teenagers will be challenged to finish a whole wedge.“

“This is a great place to eat. It was slow so I sat by the window hoping business would pick and it did. A middle-aged couple came in with a puzzled look on their face, as though they were desperate for something to do.
The menu is large and in charge but I judge each deli by one dish and one dish alone, the chicken parm wedge. Is the bread fresh, is the chicken crispy, is the sauce homemade etc.? Sometimes a spot is constrained by its ability to both deliver and keep the price down; Summer Street Deli somehow figured this out. I ordered a Pedro Special and a Chicken Parm Wedge and spent $25 with tip. Not bad. The chicken parm was crispy, the sauce was sweet and the motz was tangy. The chili was also delicious with a touch of spice but not to little which infuriates me. I like a hot chili. Like a diet Merrit Canteen chili flavor, very good though.

But over all I like this little spot with lots of dining space that is roomy but maintains a classic feel without all this pretentious so called atmosphere that doesn’t require it’s presence in a neighborhood spot such as this. Definitely worth a look but don’t take your date here unless your married, it’s not that kind of place bro ;).“

My friends and I cycle all over Stamford, New Canaan, Pound Ridge, Darien, and more …and about half the time they insist that we stop at “mother‘s” (as they call it) before we head to our respective homes. We always get rolls with egg, cheese, broccoli rabe, and bacon …and pancakes …and coffee and it’s definitely heaven.

Parking: Only thing is, it’s kind of hidden in a building. You have to take a right as soon as you walk in. So no parking , street parking if you find some. I like to walk there instead.“

Food is delicious but I do have to say that when I buy the turkey burger, which is super yummy, 1 out of 5 times it is undercooked and I have to throw it into the garbage. I ordered a chicken cutlet (My go-to deli sandwich) on a wedge with cheese, tomatoes and ketchup and mayo. First things first: they made a QUALITY QUALITY sandwich. The cutlet has a nice crisp to it, and was not dry but juicy. The breading was not overwhelming but just right. The cheese, bacon , tomato all meshed well. Nothing was too loose or too messy. Second the customer service was great. A great atmosphere to walk into. Its always nice when you are greeted by a smile, conversation and to see that person behind the counter is actually enjoying themselves.I went back again to try out their meatball parm. On. The. Money. The meatballs are fresh and REAL. I am simple so I did not doctor this particular sandwich up much, but it was good for me and can be for you too.I recommend Ron's Deli if you want a great sandwich, great service, great prices. Their creative menu offers so many delicious choices. They’ve got everything and then some. A perfect choice for a catered breakfast and lunch.
Tony’s staff is so accommodating, polite and friendly, often addressing customers by name and always with a warm smile.
It’s a very popular establishment but even when it’s crowded they’re quick, patient and have never gotten my special orders wrong.

“Chris is da man and hooks up some bomb sandwiches. This is a main north Stamford stop along since I had some issues at LaRoccos on long ridge. The staff is polite but when some leaves the door open it can get to hot or cold so of course they need to say something we were not raised in a barn door. If I drop off my guys and I need a quick snacky snack i gotta stop here for some grub and chit chat. Love this place and support the local community business everyone“
