“Very good food and friendly staff...the place is an old western theme diner so there's a funky cowboy mural on one wall!Prices were great and quick service. They could use a grease exhaust cleaning so be prepared for the odor! It's right off the highway...open weird parking...be careful!“

“My first adult job was in Windsor Locks. I wasn't from the area, and being the new guy, I didn't have much of a say in group lunch spots. Bart's was in rotation for dogs, burgers, fries, etc. Until this week, I hadn't been to Bart's for over 20 years. Since I was in the area, I decided to drop in. I quickly noticed that the menus referred to "New Bart's". Since I hadn't been in over 20 years, the changeover could have been at any point. I asked. The ownership change was "about a month ago". I missed the old team by a month. How crazy is that? Given the ownership change, I'm not sure how accurate the 3 Star Rating is for New Bart's, but it is what it is. I ordered a classic -- Bart's Famous Dog with chili, relish, peppers, ketchup, mustard and Mayo. It's an eye catching dog. The grilled reddish dog extends from both sides of the bun. There are strips of white and yellow. Dashes of red and green. Brown chili. I'm sure it sounds like a mess, but the sweet, sour and salty flavors were well balanced. The dog, the brand of which I did not recognize, was cooked through and medium dense. The bun was pretty good. I tried to isolate the chili sauce to see if it was good. It didn't really pop for me, but it worked fine with the other ingredients. Bart's also has sandwiches, some seafood, chicken nuggets and fried rice. They have inside seating in an old school, no frills dining room. You can also get takeout or order delivery. This was a nice trip down memory lane. 4 Stars“
“We had a party of 3 so tried everything on the menu and we loved it. The roasted squash was probably the star of the show. All of the entrees were nicely sized portions and well executed. The butterscotch pudding was great. Service was also top notch. Angie took great care of us and I would request her great service next time we come in. This concept is truly special and I hope it flourishes.“
“I really cannot find the right words to describe the experience you will have when you dine at this gem of a place. It is our "go to" when we want a very memorable evening. From the minute you walk in the door you will be treated like you are the most special couple in the room. Every person that works there goes above and beyond. You almost feel like you are in Europe at a little bistro. And to think it is right here in the lovely little town of Tariffville. Thank you for the wonderful memory you help create.“
“Best steak I've had anywhere in CT. Took it to-go and it was still perfect when I got it home. Maple cream cheese Flan with scorched marshmallows was uniquely flavorful. Fast bar service while waiting with good local choices. Can't wait to come back with family.“
“The food is insanely good. My friend and I dine at Trumbull Kitchen before we attend Hartford Stage, and she was still extolling her dinner on the drive home after the show. She had the marinaded steak. The best thing was the response to her request to replace the fries with veggies. The choices were plentiful, and the side salad that arrived was gorgeous. My dinner was equally delicious, seared tuna with salad. Yummy and beautifully plated. The salad dressing (served on-the-side) was exquisite. We each had reasonably priced glasses of wine.Julian, our waiter was running, as was everyone on staff when it became crazy busy at around six o'clock. The bar was hopping and there was a line waiting to be seated. Yet, he checked on us every 5 to 10 minutes and made sure we were well supplied with the spicy, chip-like crackers that come in the bread basket and are irresistible. If there is one negative, it is the very loud sound system which pumps in thumping music that you might want as background for a weight-lifting class at the gym, rather than for dining. I am sure there is a metric that tells restaurants and bars that people drink more if they can't hear themselves think. Personally, I find it offensive. If I could have done, I'd have changed the selection and turned down the volume.“
“My wife and I had our first dinner at Vinted Wine Bar tonight. My wife has had a good amount of experience at Vinted, but it was my first time there. Top to bottom... TRULY EXCELLENT!! We shared a nice bottle of Daou Cab while sitting at the bar, and started with the Whipped Hummus, with Crispy Scallion Cake. Best Hummus you'll ever eat, and the warm crispy thin cake slices are very delicious with the Hummus. Terrific! Then we split and shared 2 entrees: The Chicken Milanese, and the Vinted Prime Burger. Both, also super delicious. Rich, flavorful, perfectly prepared by the talented crew in the kitchen lead by the executive chef, and partner, Mike Voight. Ate every bite of everything. Lastly, for desert we shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake. Holy cow, that is one incredible desert. Our bartender Chris was very helpful, friendly, and although busy had time to talk with us. And we found all the staff, extremely personable. Mike has a finely tuned ship in Vinted. We'll be back. #impressed“
