“Outstanding restaurant! (and we do a lot of our dining in NYC!) Local 63 is an oasis in Watertown, CT in a variety of ways. The food is creative (even when the dish SOUNDS traditional). The chicken fried steak (hard to even find in New England) is outstanding. The salads were awesome: perfectly dressed with great crunch and freshness. The Cassoulet (originally a French farmhouse dish) with chicken, in-house sausage, and white beans cooked to perfection is something you will not find in many other places. Great bar--friendly atmosphere and great for large groups and celebrations. This is a hidden gem with excellent service and owners who obviously care! I will go back and bring many other guests here when I have a chance.“

“Went here last night to see what the hype was. In my opinion; are they the best wings? No. Are they the most crispy sauced wings? Yes. Absolutely the best blue cheese I’ve had that complimented the sauce. The tater tot poutine however was phenomenal. A cheese pull in every bite. Dare I say it was better than what I had in Canada. Lastly, the Harry’s Butterbeer drink was so good I wish I had more! My only gripe was I was told it was going to be a 45 min wait, I left my phone number to be texted. I wound up waiting almost an hour and a half and never got a text. Apparently their system glitched and said it sent, but was not the case. I however was seated immediately after explaining the situation.“

In our experience we always look forward to dinner at Diorio's. The atmosphere with old fashioned dining booths and impressive bar. We’re from New York originally, so being stuck in a small town like plantsville was a bit out of the way… we were famished and parched; nothing was open… we stumbled across the great Uncle Jack Noodle on Apple Maps with a lit up green sign saying “OPEN”. We rushed over to the restaurant, and parked very handily, across the street. Free Parking. Very Wonderful. We walked into Uncle Jack’s and were greeted with very warm smiles and friendlyness. Absolutely Stunning. Will be dining in next time! All in all, Uncle Jack served the most amazing noodles i have ever eaten. I ordered the Uncle Jack Noodles & boba tea and my friend ordered the Drunken Noodles spice level 5!!! We ate not even HALF of our meals within becoming full. Even then, we couldn’t help ourselves to more. $15 for my meal was more than enough. i had leftovers and then some. Thank You Uncle Jack, for being not only a restaurant, but a home as well.“

“I got take out. It was amazing sushi and the hibachi noodles were a hit. One thing of note, absolutely do not park next door. There are signs but I assumed since I was just running in it would be fine. It was not. My friend waiting in the car immediately was descended upon in the literal 90 seconds it took me to grab my food and told with much intensity to move the car immediately. They really have adequate parking at SushiQ, I just overshot their driveway. Enjoy a delicious meal!“

“This review is a part of my quest of visiting all CT breweries. I met Counter Weight numerous times during beer festivals, but never understood their appeal to the public. It was until I visited the brewery.

First things first, the brewery occupies a big building and has an enormous space. The first floor is sectioned into 3 rooms, allowing for some privacy should you plan any events. There's also a patio, where the majority during our visit were the dog owners, and a 21+ game zone with some field games. They also have space on the second floor, but I did not go there. The brewery partnered with Ritual Pizza as their kitchen. We ordered a pizza and chicken tenders, and everything was delicious. The whole place was packed on Saturday evening.

Now, for the beers. This brewery specializes in 2 directions: traditional European beers and IPAs. As I'm not a big fan of IPAs, I was focused on the European styles during my visit. You cannot order beer flights here, but they can provide a short pour (10oz) of any beer with a limit of one short pour at a time. I tried many of Counter Weight beers before, but still their lineup was almost completely new to me, so my guess is that the beers are rotated often. I was able to try 5 beers during my visit. My absolute favorite was Grodziskie - a traditional 3.5% smoked wheat beer, which is incredibly hard to find in CT. But in general, I loved everything I had - Vienna Lager was rich in taste, Ein Helles was a direct hit in the style, and so on.

I'm pretty impressed by the quality of the beers produced here. If you're a fan of European beers, this should be a stop on your journey.“

“First time patrons my sister and I. I had ham/egg/cheese toasted rye bread, #2 sandwich I've ever tasted, Great!! My sister had Over Easy Home Fries rye toast, said she wasn't to fond of the taters but everything was Great. Very nice waitress and the restaurant was very clean. Decent prices also.“

“jimmys food is excellent! however I was there for the 1st time last week, our waitress was not friendly with us. no personality, no smile..brought our food put it down walked away, said nothing. then 5 mins later, as she was walking by the table threw the receipt down, said nothing. Never came to see if we needed anything else or how the food was, she never offered desert, so we didn't get that. I had to go to the counter and ask for a box, as again she never came back to the table. there were only a few tables full, so she wasn't overly busy, meanwhile I'm watching the other waitress there, smile and laugh with her customers. I wish I knew her name, because she definitely needs to learn people skills. ohh I also heard her complaining to a customer who she must've known, about her training someone and now the other girl is waiting tables and she was not happy that this girl was doing her job basically 🙄“

“We had my daughter’s baby shower at Lola’s. From the start of booking until the day of the shower. So easy to work with. The day of the shower, we were greeted with such warmth and truly our waitress for our party, Becky, was fantastic. Catered to our every need and was so beyond helpful. She worked very hard and was so pleasant! The food was amazing and plenty of it! Guests went back for seconds! Becky even went above and beyond for my mom who couldn’t eat something and prepared a new one just for her. Truly a gem of a place! This was our 2nd visit for dinner to break up the trip a little and it definitely won’t be our last.
