Excellent hotel, reasonably priced, even during the NAFSA convention. Short walk to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Hotel was clean and staff was most helpful and friendly. I picked this hotel because of the reasonable price, location, and especially the ease of getting to the Metro Silver Line, which is just across the street! I'll stay here again!

This hotel has it all - a pool and gym, within walking distance of The White House, an interesting neighbourhood with a grocery storer right underneath and an exceptionally committed and kind staff, each person was very nice to me.

My experience with Mini, the waitress in the hotel dining area was outstanding. Mini went above and beyond. Always asking if you needed anything. Mini would basically read my mind and bring me what I needed. Wow!! She always had a pleasant greeting when you enter the dining area and when you leave the dining area. Mini made my experience at the Hilton Garden Inn Outstanding. Dear Hilton, Please hire more waitresses like Mini. Happy Mothers day Mini! The next time we come to DC we will definitely stay at this location. Mini, You made me smile. We thank you for the excellent service. The food was very good!

This hotel is a great location to get to and from the metro station. Also there is plenty of eating places and stores close by within walking distance. Really only complaint was one of our two rooms was constantly getting too warm and hard to control the temperature. I had asked someone to come look at it but they never did. Having one elevator working was a little of an annoyance but it never was too bad. Also the staff was friendly.

If you are looking for a hotel near the Capitol, Hilton Garde is the one. You can walk to Union Market, it is about a 12 minute walk. There is a supermarket next to the hotel. Also close to metro station.

We are older folks and have stayed in numerous hotels over many years. This hotel is one of the worst places ever. The front desk was a zoo at check in . Very disorganized. Finally checked in and went to the room. The next morning housekeeping knocked and said they needed to clean the room. We said, no that is not needed, we are good. They said we had checked out and they needed to clean it for another guest. We called the front desk and they said we were a no show, so they cancelled the reservation. We pointed out we checked in and were in the room, so how could that be the case. They said too bad, you have no reservation any more for the next two nights. We asked to speak to manager. They said nobody could help us for 2 hours, at 10 am. So our morning was ruined as we could not leave the room, as we would not be able to get back in. Finally went to lobby as instructed and after much stress and headache, plus over an hour on the phone with Hilton, finally got it straightened out to stay the 2 nights. Eventually the hotel admitted it was their mistake. We asked to speak to manager. That person never contacted us. We asked again and they never bothered to contact us. We called Hilton 3 times over the next two weeks to register our complaint and asked the manager to call us. They never did, but they cancelled our "case" without doing anything. It is hard to believe this is a Hilton. We strongly suggest you stay somewhere else. There are many other choices in DC.

This hotel was great. The staff was friendly and professional. They always wanted to help if you needed something. They were knowledgeable about the area. The room, restaurant and pool were very clean. The hotel was safe and felt safe.

Never having been to Washington, was worried about a bad hotel experience; found the location was great (good food nearby, very easy access right past a Dunkin' to the Metro) and the amenities as expected (usual sized pool, spa, fitness, if there were elevator problems in Feb they were definitely fixed by mid-March!) but delighted with the people. From the valets, front desk, and bar staff -- very attentive and helpful, and always with a smile. When we realized we accidentally left valuable jewelry behind, the manager, Cedric, personally found it for us and helped get it back to us. Very positive experience overall.

Air conditioning didn’t work. Lots of issues being billed correctly. Incorrect charges to credit card. Constantly had to make trips to front desk and still were mistakes. Would not recommend this hotel.
