Wow! I was not expecting this place to be that good. I ordered the samosas, chicken makahni, garlic Naan, large rice, seekh kebab, and the Mango lassey. The rice was so fluffy and EVERYTHING was so fragrant and flavorful. I came in close to closing time, but the food quality was definitely not impacted. You can tell everything was fresh. Aatish On the Hill was a delightful break for this first-time visitor to our Nation's capital. I arrived early; tired, with sore feet, and hungry. The low-key but attentive service; quick preparation time; and absolutely delicious food was a balm to my soul. While I agree with the criticisms that it was not spicy enough I am pretty sure the chef could accomodate bolder palates. I live in VA, but love to try different food. My second time here, because food was great. The girl serving was super too. Was not busy the time I was eating. After reading reviews, I wonder where people normally eat as most restaurants have a charge for sharing if they let you all. I like the quiet atmosphere to relax. Nice to be able to have a glass of wine & do that. The manager was super friendly too.
