“The burger was excellent—definitely the highlight of the meal. Everything else was solid and okay overall. The biggest issue was the service. Only one staff member was handling both the tables and the bar for the entire restaurant, so things moved really slowly. Despite that, they were friendly and doing their best under the circumstances. With better staffing, this place could be fantastic.“

“The Haymaker is a great cocktail bar and has some of the best and hardest working bartenders in DC. When we arrived, the bar counter seats were almost full. Three cocktails in and the whole place was packed with 90/95% having cocktails, our refills still came quickly. Why only 4 star? They have changed the food menu and not for the better. The dumplings are still great. We also had the quesadilla. My wife liked it, I thought it was generic. We both thought the loaded tots were a major fail, the 'load', what little there was of it, had all fallen off and was in the bottom of the bowl. The draft beer choice is also weak, with Goose Island being their premium beer. I hope they change up their menu for the better.“

“Great pub for watching NFL, NCAA, Soccer any sport! Great staff bar tenders, for bar food not bad. The beer is cold! Watched several games here, always a good time, outside seating, and also has a TV.“

“We were absolutely thrilled to work with Jess at Moreland’s Tavern for our wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks. Jess was fantastic from start to finish, helping us create the perfect event and menu while staying within our budget. The upstairs of the restaurant was set up beautifully for our party, complete with a photo slideshow of us playing on the TVs, which added a nice personal touch. The dinner was delicious, and our rehearsal dinner guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the roasted chicken was! After the sit-down dinner, Jess and her team seamlessly transitioned the space into a more casual area where the rest of our guests could mix and mingle, complete with an open bar and light snacks. The bartenders, Jess and Max, were absolute pros—our guests certainly kept them busy and they did an amazing job keeping us and everyone happy throughout the night. Jess and the team at Moreland’s Tavern made our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks unforgettable. As our neighbors up the street, we are so glad Moreland’s was a part of our wedding weekend as a favorite neighborhood spot we can revisit again and again. We highly recommend them for anyone looking for a great event venue with top-notch service!“

“We came from out of state (NC) and just happened to Google bars around and this popped up. Hands down the best time we had. Luke, the bartender, was funny and amazing. We ended up going back the next day just to see him before we left town. Definitely will be back!“

“My friend and I were in town for this past weekend and ended up here multiple nights. They definitely treat you like family here. We met Marte, danced with Jamal and just had a great experience from the wings and fries was delicious, the orange mint vanilla hookah was amazing, drinks were great and fairly priced. We stayed at an air b&b up the road and we could walk to this spot. We were supposed to go back yesterday but we were too tired as we kicked it multiple days til the wee hours. The music varies depending upon their different nights! It’s an amazing establishment and woman owned! Please check it out if you’re in town. I wish I would’ve grabbed pictures.“

“I went at noon and it was not crowded at all, and it was quiet, a big bonus for me these days. No loud music and people shouting in order to converse over it. The food was very good, very fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant for Asian fusion cuisine and sushi.“

“Really fun place right at the marina on JBAB. Great wings and the other food is good, too. The staff is nice, but they don't have a lot of staff, so it's up to you to go get what you want.
They also have really cool special events! Motown Night is coming up!“

“I went to this bar with friends during homecoming weekend on a whim, we were actually at a bar next door. One friend in the group went in so the rest of us did too and it proved to be the best decision of the night. The DJ started playing R&B hits and Gracie (who is so kind, loving and fun) started passing out microphones so it turned into an impromptu karaoke session. The vibe was so great it closed the gap of unfamiliarity between a bar of strangers and it instantly felt like the Cheers theme song, “where everybody knows your name”. We all had the best time. Strangers became backup dancers for singers who were living out their American Idol dreams. I was hungry towards the end of the night and Gracie sent her son to walk with me to get pizza so I’d be safe. She is truly a gem. Definitely go to this bar if you’re in town! I’ll be stopping by again the next time I’m in DC.“

“We were looking for an outdoor brunch area that was cute but reasonably priced and this was perfect. It is right on the Wharf so you would expect it to be louder but it's actually not. You can sit inside but we really enjoyed sitting outside with a great view of the water. The staff and food were great as well.“
