“The Haymaker is a great cocktail bar and has some of the best and hardest working bartenders in DC. When we arrived, the bar counter seats were almost full. Three cocktails in and the whole place was packed with 90/95% having cocktails, our refills still came quickly. Why only 4 star? They have changed the food menu and not for the better. The dumplings are still great. We also had the quesadilla. My wife liked it, I thought it was generic. We both thought the loaded tots were a major fail, the 'load', what little there was of it, had all fallen off and was in the bottom of the bowl. The draft beer choice is also weak, with Goose Island being their premium beer. I hope they change up their menu for the better.“

“So, here's the thing...feeling welcomed as soon as you walk in to a place you have never been before means so much. My husband and I were visiting DC. We were checking out places to eat near our hotel. We stopped in at Tune Inn. It was packed! The bar and all tables were full. The bartender welcomed us right away even though he was super busy. He told us to order a beer and hang out...the next table was ours. He handed us a happy hour drink menu and we did just that. Our waitress was on the ball. She was handling more tables than humanly possible but she made it look easy. Food was delicious!!!! An excellent find on our trip and obviously busy for a reason.“

“We were absolutely thrilled to work with Jess at Moreland’s Tavern for our wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks. Jess was fantastic from start to finish, helping us create the perfect event and menu while staying within our budget. The upstairs of the restaurant was set up beautifully for our party, complete with a photo slideshow of us playing on the TVs, which added a nice personal touch. The dinner was delicious, and our rehearsal dinner guests couldn’t stop talking about how amazing the roasted chicken was! After the sit-down dinner, Jess and her team seamlessly transitioned the space into a more casual area where the rest of our guests could mix and mingle, complete with an open bar and light snacks. The bartenders, Jess and Max, were absolute pros—our guests certainly kept them busy and they did an amazing job keeping us and everyone happy throughout the night. Jess and the team at Moreland’s Tavern made our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks unforgettable. As our neighbors up the street, we are so glad Moreland’s was a part of our wedding weekend as a favorite neighborhood spot we can revisit again and again. “My friend and I were in town for this past weekend and ended up here multiple nights. They definitely treat you like family here. We met Marte, danced with Jamal and just had a great experience from the wings and fries was delicious, the orange mint vanilla hookah was amazing, drinks were great and fairly priced. We stayed at an air b&b up the road and we could walk to this spot. We were supposed to go back yesterday but we were too tired as we kicked it multiple days til the wee hours. The music varies depending upon their different nights! It’s an amazing establishment and woman owned! Please check it out if you’re in town. I wish I would’ve grabbed pictures.“

“I went at noon and it was not crowded at all, and it was quiet, a big bonus for me these days. No loud music and people shouting in order to converse over it. The food was very good, very fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant for Asian fusion cuisine and sushi.“

“Really fun place right at the marina on JBAB. Great wings and the other food is good, too. The staff is nice, but they don't have a lot of staff, so it's up to you to go get what you want.
They also have really cool special events! Motown Night is coming up!“

“This is a Bay Area sports bar in DC! The hubby & I visited while we were on vacation to watch the 49er season opener against the Jets & had a blast! The staff was wonderful, the owner Gracie ( we didn't know she was the owner until the end of the night) was rocking it, and the crowd was AWESOME! Being season ticket holders, the energy felt like we were at a game. Anytime we're in DC, we'll be back.... on a side note, we found out our niece had a blast here watching the 2014 Giants World Series.

“We were looking for an outdoor brunch area that was cute but reasonably priced and this was perfect. It is right on the Wharf so you would expect it to be louder but it's actually not. You can sit inside but we really enjoyed sitting outside with a great view of the water. The staff and food were great as well.“
