This was our first time at Bobby Van our servers were delightful and attentive. The French onion soup was very good. I ordered the Cobb Salad that's was pretty good. However, the chicken was chopped and a little drier than I would have liked. My husband had the filet mignon medium well + but, it was a little redder than expected.

They may have the best beef burgers I've had in Washington. The environment, however, is too formal and serious, a style that I have found a lot in Washington restaurants.

We were so pleasantly surprised by the food here! From the delicious salads to the perfectly cooked steak...we LOVED it. The atmosphere isn't the “old school” steak house we normally go for but nonetheless, the service was quick. Our server got a little behind because he also had a large party he was taking care of.

BEST dining experience I ever had in DC. The manager Jonathan and our server Michael were on top of their game. It was a larger party of 7 and we were there for a business dinner. This was our first time there and they treated us like regulars. Quick service, friendly and helpful staff.. total 5 star experience. Food was amazing (Get the Hash Browns as a side). This is a must stop place if you're in DC.

Outstanding experience- the food was exceptional and the service was the best; it has become my favorite restaurant in DC; we each ordered a different entree and each was so good! The steak was so delicious and so were the scallops-definitely recommend!

What a fabulous meal!!! From start to finish, the lemon drop martini with citrus vodka and lemoncello, amazing and the rack and lamb with the crab cake and the best risotto with truffle oil, the best EVER. Had an amazing waiter, Oscar so attentive, friendly and knowledgable. It was the best dinner with my best friends, my siblings. Everyone raved about our meal. Thank you so much!!

We had a party of 4 with a 7:30 pm reservation. We arrived on time and there were multiple people waiting for a table, all with reservations. The hostess and manager were not welcoming and the whole situation was very chaotic. When we were finally seated, multiple waiters, waters boys and other people who never spoke to us, came and cleared the extra plates, brought bread, filled our water glasses, etc. all in a non-welcoming manner. Our waiter was great but overworked. Food made up for the lack in service as it was excellent!

Great atmosphere for lunch. Service was good. The soup de jour when I went was potato and grilled corn which was delicious.I ordered the 6 oz petite fillet, mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. I ordered the fillet medium which it was but it was over charred. The char took away from the texture and created bitterness. It was seasoned but couldn't taste it beyond the char. The mashed potato was presented well but again under seasoned. The creamed spinach has an interesting smooth but crunchy texture. Unfortunately it too was under seasoned. I did not finish my meal. The bread brought to the table was lovely. Warm and crisp outside with a Lovely chew and tender inside, the butter which accompanied it was yummy.I ordered a glass of Cabernet since I was having steak and it was very flat.. unflavorful and I didn't finish it. Almost like it was from an opened bottle of wine that may have been stale. They were kind and took it off the bill. The service was just enough. Not pushy and very polite.Restroom was clean, very hot water. Also I wished they put salt and pepper on the table. Having to ask for it twice was a turn off.

They don't and will not split or separate checks. Came here with a group after a conference, ordered drinks, and inquired about splitting checks. They will not do it. It wasn't indicated anywhere on OpenTable nor on their menu. We paid for drinks and left.

Bathrooms! Need to keep them clean and in good repair. Men's room was dirty(like sidestep the urinal so to the dribbles) at the start of a dinner service. Then the stall has broken handles and dirty all the way round. After a nice dinner doesn't really entice you to stick around for dessert after spending $100/plate. I'll be seeking out someplace different next time I visit the area.

20% added in my check!??!Also food portion is relatively smaller than other restaurants in DC.

Our service was impeccable and the food was very good! Shoutout to our amazing server Oscar! However - I was really disappointed in the manager. She called me the day of our reservation (which I had already confirmed the day prior) to pretty rudely inform me that no one could be late, no checks would be split, and 20% gratuity would be included. I don't have an issue with any of that - but the tone of the call was super rude. There was no ‘we look forward to seeing you' or anything along those lines. At our actually dinner, the manager had an...odd energy. Things like acting annoyed when one of us asked for directions to the bathroom, or complaining about singing talent the restaurant had hired and lingering at our table, when we were trying to enjoy time amongst ourselves. It just didn't make my party feel comfortable or welcome any time she came to our table. Without her influence, this would've been 4.5 stars for me.

Food was outstanding! Sidney, our waiter was polished, professional, attentive and sweet. Clam Chowder the best and the Scallops were amazing. Malcolm, the chef, is excellent!!!! A beautiful experience to finalize our last night in DC. Ate at many highly rated restaurants.......this was memorable.

The service and food were absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend and we tend to be food snobs. ?It was pretty noisy but there were lots of large groups so that could have be the problem. At any rate, the food was worth it and we will definitely return!

Our meal was so delicious - from the salad to start, the fresh bread, the sides, Brussels sprouts some of the best I've ever eaten, and the hash browns, to our perfectly prepared entrées. I had the Seabass with shrimp and risotto, and it was excellent! The service at Bobby Van's is first rate. The staff work as a team, and were very busy but attentive. This is one of my favorite restaurants in DC.
