Maybe not the most ambient but the food was great and I’m Indian so I can tell uncle put a lot of effort in the food to make it very authentic! Also the derive was extremely nice that was the best part!
This restaurant was one of my go-to spot when I used to be an intern in DC (a couple years ago. Swahili village lunch platter was also great) so I’m very grateful. Good price and huge portion- so much that I used to split with another intern sometimes. Mango lassi is also great :)
If you’re expecting a sit down restaurant experience with fluent English speaking customer service, this is not the place for you - better off getting a premade sandwich from coffeeshop across the street. If you’re looking for yummy, homey, cheap, authentic bang for buck, look no further. You can choose between 2 entrees and 3 sides, with complimentary rice and naan for $15! After 300 orders, they run out and close for the day so imagine how your order of deliciousness is...
