Don’t order from Uber Eats, missed a few notes, and less food than going in person.

Went here for the mazemen ramen — wasn’t very authentic and the flavor was just ok

i just came to visit for dinner and i rate the experience a 9/10 . Jas my server was exceptional , with amazing vibes and i love that the chaplin in open later than most ramen spots in DC . i ordered the chaplin ramen and sub the pork for karrage & it was delicious ! the egg was the best part ! it is a little on the pricey side with the auto 20% grat , but still worth the try .

Ive been here three times, once in 2016 once and 2019 and again this year just this last weekend.

And I can definitively remember every single item I got from all three of those meals.

Chaplins is hands down the best meal I've ever had that year whatever year ive gone. Your waiter will always be incredibly polite but SO interesting, and will come by exactly the perfect number of times.

I dont even want to tell you what I got (Curry rice bowl) because truly I am 100% confident in telling you that anything you order will be the best thing you've had of that thing.

From the Bone broth ramen, to the stamina egg in said ramen, to, jeez I can go on and on and on.

Legitimately, can't recommend this place enough. I wish I could go way more often but I have to save up to eat here as its a bit pricey.
If your super price conscious I'd recommend brunch more than anything. Its still a bit pricey but honestly a steal for the value. You get an app and an entre and its the perfect amount of food again.

There I go again, yapping about how perfect this place is.

Absolutely a must eat. Go as soon as you can, anytime of year is a good time.

Unfortunately there was a mouse in the restaurant. A server was able to catch it. The manager was understanding. The service was great otherwise but I'm nervous about returning.

food was good but didn't expect it to be super lively and cramped; service was fast but wasn't spectacular

Interesting ramen X cocktail bar concept - menu is Japanese, but the restaurant suggests otherwise - Charlie Chaplin themed. Feels very contrived to me, but the food was great!

My biggest complaint is that it’s sooooo noisy, not helped by the small space. Perhaps a piano bar concept would make it a better dining experience.

The vibes have nothing to do with the food, which is actually good. Servers are super friendly. I don’t know why it’s Chaplin themed.

Our server was phenomenal, knowledgeable, and accommodating! The food was delicious and her recommendations were on point. Perfect for a large group.

I love this place and don't think it gets enough credit in the DC Ramen scene. The Tan Tan Men Ramen is amazingly flavorful and the ambience of the restaurant is charming (although I don't quite understand the connection between Charlie Chaplin and Japanese Cuisine). Keep up the great work Chaplin!

Our waitress was phenomenal! The host, not so much... seemed like a bit of a grouch and didn't speak much so we didn't get that warm welcome feeling. The food was fantastic. Although we had reservations our table was subject to high traffic at the top of the second floor, and unfortunately we were sitting next to two loudmouths who had no self awareness, so we didn't get to start enjoying ourselves until they left, which they did early enough during our dining experience, so things got much better with time. Outside of our waitress who really had a talent for service and the food which was awesome, the point I'm trying to make here is first impressions count a lot to first-time dinners, so after our interaction with the host, it really put a cloud on everything else and from there unfortunately, it was a hard sell. But I must emphasize that our waitress and the food though were definitely redeeming factors. Thank you.

Always great food when we go! Haven't been in a while but it seemed like they upgraded their bowls and the food was delicious!

Great food. The wait was pretty long to get the food and it seemed like they were understaffed . As long as you have lots of time and patience then worth the wait.

We went to Chaplin's for my husbands birthday and the service and food were amazing. We really could not have asked for a better experience.

The service is SLOW. Seriously this is not the place to go for a quick dinner! And it is extremely LOUD. Worst dining experience I’ve had in dc in a long time. I left with a migraine. The food is okay but the drinks are great. Save your money and go somewhere else.
