Yes the interior probably hasn’t been updated since 1989 but don’t be put off. The service was great and the food excellent. I had General Tso’s tofu and it was excellent as was the mixed vegetables. Look out though as the portions are large.

Amazing dishes! It came out hot and great flavors! I took my family here and they are very picky Chinese food eaters because they grew up with authentic dishes. We ordered the soft-shelled crap salt and pepper dish as well as sweet and sour pork chop, a Chinese broccoli with beef and a Singapore noodle stir-fry. Absolutely delicious, highly recommend and will come back!

I would give this place 0 stars for the food if I could. Please do not go here !!!!!! They didn’t give me the coke I ordered - no attention to detail!!!
But here’s the important bit. The food was truly horrible. I ordered sweet and sour chicken and they served the chicken separate to the sweet and sour? Never seen anything like it and I’ve eaten Chinese food everywhere in the world. Absolutely disgusting. Because I bought it I decided to eat it anyway, the chicken was horrible and the sweet and sour sauce tasted like water and oil. Please I am begging you, do not go here! My worst experience with food ever regardless of the type of cuisine. Absolutely ruined my DC experience . Please literally go anywhere else…ANYWHERE

Came here due to a nearby restaurant having a ridiculous wait time. The menu items were standard chinese items and we were surprised to see that in DC.
We got a crab e fu noodle and a seafood rice noodle. Both were a little salty but not too bad.
The service was not very great. Our food took over 30 minutes to arrive and the servers were a little dismissive. There were mosquitoes flying around everywhere and it felt a little dirty.

4 Stars Food - 3 Stars Service
I don't dine in Chinatown enough to know if the standoffish service is indicative of all of the restaurants but it certainly is here. Not rude, but not friendly. Rather robotic. Water glasses were however, kept extremely full by the busser. As others have noted they will add 15% gratuity on EVERY check and then present it as a check without gratuity but you can figure it out quickly if you examine it. Wonder how often that works?
Anyway the food was good. Other than the wonton soup being completely uninspiring ,our entrees were delightful with one in our party saying the General Tso's chicken was the best he ever had. And I am in search of the world's best Shrimp Toast and this place is a contender! That is the main reason I would go back.

Be careful when billing! The supposedly friendly demeanor suddenly changes when it comes to payment and tips. Attempts are made to calculate tips on one's own initiative; the well-known suggestions on the receipt are viewed as mandatory. If you then point out that you want to pay a little less in tips, you will be treated very unfriendly or spoken in the local language... The billing is also in cash and without receipts, which is very strange. I am disappointed and cannot recommend the restaurant.

Cozy and casual Chinese eatery with prompt and friendly service. Recommend that you ask for the Chinese menu so you can peruse their full lineup of offerings. Otherwise, you'll receive only the leather-bound "Americanized" menu.
The shredded pork with dry tofu and salt & pepper seafood are delicious. The General Tso's Chicken on the Americanized menu is very good - lightly battered and crispy. The General Tso's sauce is the perfect blend of tangy, sweet, and spicy.
They serve beer, wine, and alcohol for those who wish to partake.
(Note that the restaurant automatically adds a 15% tip for all dine-in orders. The servers don't tell you directly but there are signs posted on the walls.)
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a short flight of steps up to the restaurant entrance, so it is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible.

Andy at the bar upstairs is an Instant Legend! First time here and live a few hours away, but regular in the D.C. EDM scene. Everyone clearly loves him as he shows the same energy to all who come up to this unique and spacious cocktail bar that hosts some amazing events. Will def be back!

Kid-friendliness: Our son is a very picky vegetable eater (not his twin sister though) and we usually have issue with him eating them with their Chinese. But tonight he ate them no problem and said "they were the best shrimp veggie lo mein" general tso's chicken had the perfect spice to it as well. Definitely recommend, especially if visiting!

3 stars for the food was ordinary but actually edible. I ordered eggplants with garlic and beef with broccoli- paid more than 45 bucks including tips - overpriced.

There is nothing special here. Service was lacking, and they added 18% tip. Didn't seem worth it.
