The service was so slow and not because of our waiter the kitchen staff was so slow. Input in an extra order of potatoes and they never came. By the time my server could get them, I was just ready to go. So I had him pack them and my food. The server was amazing and tried to make my birthday memorable at Clyde's. This was on Sept 1st. Also the bar staff downstairs was great. It was only one guy working but we all had his full attention and our glasses started refreshed.
I have been going to Clydes at Chinatown for years and have never been disappointed. The staff is always polite and professional and the food is always delicious!
The crab cakes were outstanding. I was disappointed in the BLT. The tomatoes serviced were not beefsteaks. They need to take lessons from the Chevy Chase Clydes. They use real beefsteaks tomatoes. This is summer, no excuse for using regular tomatoes.
They offer a variety of sandwiches to choose from. The mac n cheese was flavorful, but the pasta was overcooked. The tater tots were average, as expected. The potato salad was delicious, while the cole slaw was standard. The packaging for delivery was well done, and the leftovers still tasted good the next day. The location may be a bit confusing, as it is a part of Clyde's menu. The fries were crispy and seasoned well, but the sandwiches were just okay. Overall, it remains a good option, especially for salads, burgers, and crab cakes, which are considered some of the best in the area. Service is consistently excellent with friendly staff who keep drinks filled and provide prompt service. The ambiance is good, making it a pleasant place to dine. However, some dishes like the breaded catfish and burgers received mixed reviews, with some finding them bland or dry, and drinks sometimes watered down. The crab cakes are highly recommended with very little filler, and the steak is cooked perfectly medium rare with a delicious sauce. Despite occasional issues with certain meals, many enjoy their experience here, especially the calamari and crab cakes, which are light and flavorful.
