The original branch from where these iconic Cupcakes originated. It’s located in Georgetown on the shopping block. They have a very wide variety of cupcakes in all types of flavors and frosting. The available cup cake flavors are mentioned on the board inside the shop for the convenience of customers as they wait to order. They also have a large variety of hot and cold Coffees, while they also do have a couple of options for Tea as well. They have clear marking of the dietary guidelines and the staff also answer queries about dietary restrictions and advise on best cupcakes to pick. They have a small seating area that can accommodate up to 12 people at a time, though it does get slightly congested when full. They have clean and separate restrooms for both men and women. The store is fully wheelchair accessible. Paid street Parking is available around the area, but it’s difficult to find since it’s a busy commercial area on the front and a residential neighborhood at the back. The place is child friendly Overall this is a part of Washington DC baked items experience.

I really appreciated the Uber Eats pickup option it’s such a convenient way to skip the long line that’s always out the door. Ordering ahead and walking right in to grab my cupcakes was quick and easy. The packaging was thoughtful and sturdy, making transport a breeze.
At $3.75 each for the most affordable cupcakes, I’d say they’re overall a solid three stars. The quality feels inconsistent, for example, the Peanut Butter Reese’s Pieces cupcake was a letdown since all the candy pieces sank to the bottom. On the other hand, the Cookies and Cream, Red Velvet, and Peanut Butter Fudge flavors were nicely balanced, with frosting that really shined.
The cake itself could be more tender and moist, the frosting was definitely the superior of the two. Overall, a convenient and cute treat, but not quite worth waiting in the long line for.

Ordered online for pickup, it was quick and skipped the line. Frosting was great but the cake portion wasnt flavorful for a premium cupcake shop.

It’s been several years since I came here. There was a bit of nostalgia visiting Georgetown and seeing the storefront. I remember it taking an hour to get in when they first opened. Well we were able to just walk right in on a Thursday around 5pm. Everything was as I remember except the cupcakes. Holy crap they are so dry now lol. I don’t know what they did to the red velvet icing but it’s not as good. If you came in the very very beginning then you can tell they definitely have a made recipe change for the worse. I will still return for the memory but it’s just not the same.
.

Was in town for a few days and no matter where we ate dinner, we went here for dessert. Tried different cupcakes three nights in a row and they were all great. The line moves quickly and it gives you time to decide which one to get anyway.

It is a very cute place and however the cupcakes were very sweet and the one I got was way way too minty.

Super disappointed despite the hype.
I got a single cupcake (lemon blossom) which was SUPER dry. The icing was tasty but that's about it. It was also given to me in a bag to which the icing just stuck to. Who puts a cupcake in a bag?! 🤦🏼♀️ I also ordered an ice coffee- which had zero ice in it. I think the concept of an ICE coffee is lost.
Overall not worth the hype unfortunately.

Ordered the gluten free peanut butter fudge for my wife and had a salted caramel and an iced Chai latte. The cupcakes were amazing!! Definitely should have ordered two for each of us. One was not enough! 😄

The cupcakes were okay — not amazing, but the cozy atmosphere made up for it. Since we were already in Georgetown, we had to give it a try. 🧁
However, the Strawberry Matcha definitely needs improvement. The staff didn’t prepare it according to the original style — the strawberry layer should be at the bottom, but they poured the milk first, then the strawberry syrup, and finally the matcha. The result was disappointing.
I understand that your focus is cupcakes, but if you plan to sell drinks, it’s important to test and perfect them before adding them to the menu. 🍓🍵

The atmosphere was lively, colorful, and energetic. The ordering area was a bit small considering the volume of people waiting. However the staff were efficient and quick. We went with three cupcakes. The coffee cookies and cream, peanut butter and chocolate toffee. All three icings were phenomenal and delicate. The cake itself was a bit dry for my liking. I'm still satisfied with trying DC cupcakes.
