Tried this place for the first time just now because it was open late on ubereats. Never again. I ordered an orange chicken for me and a shrimp & broccoli for my girl and it was horrible. Sauce for the shrimp/broccoli was sour and nasty and the orange chicken tasted old & dry. Shrimp wasn’t even seasoned.

I’m disappointed in my experience with Jackey Cafe tonight. The service was mediocre and the food was disgusting! Whenever we have a night out in Chinatown, we stop here for a late dinner. Then, we Uber home. We got home and discovered that ALL of our food was spoiled.Shrimp Lo Mein - noodles were dry, sour and had a foul odor.Shrimp and broccoli - the shrimp were mushy, bitter and sour.Chicken wings - (see photo) wings had a foul odor and the bones were dark/bruised.Hot and sour soup - soup tasted like it was at least a day old.Egg rolls - the cabbage was dry/dehydrated. This actually tasted better than everything else. When we called the complain, the “manager” said “that’s impossible” and would only acknowledge our complaint if we, as he stated, “well, bring it back and let me taste it.” This would be an inconvenience, as we don’t like in walking distance. Our ride home is 30 minutes and we weren’t going to drive back to the restaurant after midnight. The foul odor and taste of the food warrants a complaint with the Department of Health; which I will be filling when I go into work on Monday morning. The children in the restaurant (especially the boy) was extremely rude. He was loud and obnoxious - using profanity. The girl had an attitude whenever she was asked to do something other than sit with her face buried in her phone. The woman who took our order was extremely pleasant, as always, and she was try to remain calm while the children were disobedient. This used to be our favorite late night spot. Needless to say, we’ll never go there again. We’re just two customers - I’m sure the owners won’t care about losing two customers.

Would give zero stars if I could. Ordered delivery, and then got a notification after over an hour of waiting for the food that the restaurant is “out of certain items” and they canceled the whole order… I’ve worked in the restaurant industry for years and if you receive an order you can’t fulfill, it doesn’t take any normal or even below-average operation standards establishment that long to figure out and notify a customer when they can’t fulfill an order. We should’ve read the reviews before ordering because checking the reviews afterwards, it seems this place has no business trying to deliver food to anybody.

Must have been an “off” night for Jackey Cafe. When I walked in there was broken plates and food spilled over the floor. A cop was off to the side. The server asked my order (we ordered online), handed me my food, and we were out.

This is one of the few authentic no-frills Chinese spots in DC. The Szechuan string beans and pan fried noodles were both excellent.

Came on a late Thursday night and sat down to eat before my guest and I realized the metro would be closing soon lol So, we ended up taking our food to go A nice, young Man took our order. He looked like a teenager. I got some dumplings. It's across the street from Wok N Roll, down some little stairs. Food was hot and tasty No thrills restaurant, kind of dated. A woman was sitting in a chair like making food or something in the dining area

It's not every day that one gets to taste the very essence of the ocean, but with my recent delivery from Jackey Cafe in Washington, D.C., I found myself diving into a treasure trove of marine delicacies. The Steamed Scallops and Shrimp dish, accompanied by garlic butter linguine, proved to be an ethereal experience, a delicate ballet where every ingredient danced in perfect harmony. As I unboxed the neatly packed containers, I was first greeted with the fresh, invigorating aroma of the sea. The scallops and shrimp were elegantly laid out, having been steamed to perfection. This method of preparation allowed the natural sweetness and flavors of the seafood to be the star of the dish. The scallops were tender and succulent, while the shrimp were plump and juicy. What took me by surprise was the impeccable accuracy in the steaming process. Cooking seafood requires an adept hand, as even a minute too long can turn a sumptuous morsel into rubber. But Jackey Cafe has evidently mastered the art. The shrimp and scallops were cooked with such precision that they retained all their natural juiciness and flavor. It was clear that the chef had an innate understanding of the delicate nature of these ingredients. The attention to my special requests was remarkable. The dish was seasoned perfectly according to my taste, and the balance of flavors showcased the sheer artistry behind the preparation. Thank you!
