The best sushi in DC hands down!
This is my favorite place to eat in DC. Authentic, Simple Sushi. The Chef is a master sushi chef. I have been served by him for 40 years and never been disappointed in any way. He will make anything you like if he has the ingredients. I asked for a dish not on menu and he produced it on the spot!" Poof" Like magic!!! I love Kintaro...
Delicious, simple, and fresh! A hidden gem not too far off the beaten path.
Cozy place tucked away in Georgetown - fantastic ramen at a fair price!
Relativley cheap and delicious dishes, donkatsu is a bit plain though
A bunch of latest 1-star reviews are clearly written by the same bot who hates the waitress. Kintaro is a tiny restaurant that has just one waitress and one sushi chef. They are vey busy, and if you're expeting the staff to check in with you every 5 minutes, that's not the right place. It's authentic and the food is great.
I hardly write reviews because life is busy with kids, but I appreciate people who take the time to do that to help us. However I had to write the review for this one, because I’ve never been to a restaurant that is soooo rude to people with kids. This is such a tiny place that they should have a sign for “we don’t serve for 4+ party”, but they didn’t. So we entered and felt so humiliated that they don’t tell you but use their altitude to show how not welcomed you are. Anyways, I had no idea why this one had higher rating than the other ramen place two blocks away, which was what we end up going, 100 times better. The better place is Reren Ramen. I’m
I recently had a terrible experience at a Japanese restaurant that I cannot recommend to anyone. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with an unprofessional attitude from the waiter who seemed uninterested in providing good customer service. The restaurant had a lovely ambiance and the food was decent, but the terrible service from the waiter ruined the entire experience. The waiter was impatient and rude, showing no interest in explaining the menu or providing any recommendations. When I asked for clarification on a dish, the waiter gave a curt response and left me feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable. Throughout the meal, the waiter barely checked in on our table and seemed annoyed when we asked for extra napkins or water. At one point, I had to flag down a different server just to get a refill on my drink. To make matters worse, the waiter seemed to be in a hurry to rush us out the door. Despite there being plenty of open tables, the waiter tried to clear our plates and bring us the check before we had even finished our meal. When we asked for more time, the waiter gave a sigh of exasperation and made us feel like we were an inconvenience.I cannot stress enough how terrible the service was at this Japanese restaurant. Even though the food was decent, the terrible attitude from the waiter made the experience completely unbearable. It was as if the waiter had no interest in providing good service and was just going through the motions. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a relaxing, enjoyable dining experience. In summary, the terrible waiter ruined the entire dining experience at this Japanese restaurant. From the rude attitude to the rush to get us out the door, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's a shame because the food was decent, but the terrible service from the waiter completely overshadowed any positive aspects of the meal. If you're looking for a Japanese restaurant with good service and a pleasant atmosphere, look elsewhere.
Great restaurant. Very good food. Not expensive . The cook is the owner and he is a great cook! Small and cozy.
I love how awkwardly quiet it is…. Forces you and your group to create your own vibe for the meal…. the decor and photos of the food on the wall all add to the experience… the food court esque tables and bare bones place settings and cups… Love the owner/hostess/waitress. She’s the best!!!! … how cheap it is… and simple. If I could describe briefly: simple yet elevated, timeless. A must go place for anyone in Georgetown!!!

Japanese food and flavors are okay. Nothing spectacular. Dining at the heart of DC near Georgetown cupcakes. Waitress terribly unfriendly. Limited seating capacity. People had to line up just to get in. Very tight space.
Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian options.
Parking: Park by Wisconsin Ave parking. Thne walk coming here
Amazing food! Amazing service! Rodrigo served us. He is so nice and kind! After a few days of local food. We really missed the Asian food. All dishes we ordered are amazing and delicious. Yakisoba is the best!
I’ve been to a few times because the food is good and it’s close to Georgetown u. But the old lady serving the plate- as I can observe, she is very rude to every Asian customer, especially young Asian woman, and I got rolled- eyes, plates taken away before I finished, rude and aggressive attitudes towards me doing nothing. I wouldn’t go for the bad attitudes anymore, but If you are not Asian, then probably you’ll find it quite pleasant. 3/3 stars for food
One of the best ramen and Japanese eats restaurant in DC!
It's a great Japanese restaurant with dedicated chefs who have been working there for many years. Adequate cost.
