Had an extremely delicious corned beef sandwich. Really nails the Irish pub atmosphere. Prices are expensive, but in typical range for the wharf.

The prices were very reasonable for being on the water. Outdoor seating was great with a nice breeze. The service was quick and efficient! Everything came out hot and was delicious! Will definitely be going back next time in DC.

No food even though the website says it's serving till 2am. The patio and outside all closed, not allowed to enjoy my already paid for beer except inside where loud music with lyrics about crime was blaring. Beers are 10bux this place is overpriced trash, bartender was nice.

Waiter was not very nice. Made a mean comment to one of our party who asked about the menu. I expect excellent service at a nicer restaurant unfortunately I did not fine it here.

We stopped in to get Irish Coffee while waiting for the ferry to take us back to Alexandria. Place was crowed, so loud and service scattered. We never figured out who was suppose to be helping us. Had to go find someone so we could get our bill and pay it. Very disfunctional.

Looking for a restaurant after walking the wharf was a daunting task. So many places along the wharf with poor reviews. We were very lucky to walk in here. There was a table available right away in a packed restaurant. Our waitress Sydney was quick with our drinks and order. Both the kids had flatbread pizza’s which they enjoyed. The only issue I had was that they were a bit overpriced - my son got pepperoni and it was a $4 upcharge for like 4 pepperoni slices. My wife had the wedge salad and crab cakes which she enjoyed. I had the beef burger which was delicious and cooked to my preference. With so many badly reviewed restaurants on the wharf this one was a decent pick.Kid-friendliness: There is a kids menu as seen on my photos which was kid friendly.

We were in DC for four days we went to Kirwans twice, we sat at the bar both times. first time, James is our bartender he was fun very nice guy really enjoyed it. Second time Jon or he said Johnny or anything that began with Jay he’d answer too, was our bartender. very knowledgeable about bourbons and rues. We had a wonderful time tasted a bunch of different stuff would recommend this place to anyone thank you guys are great.

The ambiance is good especially if you like a pub or outside seating. The service was also very good and we got lunch served and completed within an hour which is great if you're working nearby. The food however is really not good at all. I had to return the fish and chips which was soft (the fried fish wasn't crispy the fries were ok) and the seafood chowder was mostly corn, potato and mussels and was not hot. I gave the fish back and ordered the lamb sandwich which was also tepid, very light on lamb and the Ciabbata wasn't even toasted so it got soggy right away. The server was excellent and very apologetic but the food was really one of the worst meals I've had at the wharf. Stick with the beer.Vegetarian options: PlentyKid-friendliness: Great for kids and kids menu availableWheelchair accessibility: Yes

Great place to sit at the bar or get a meal. I always love an Irish cider.

The staff here were very friendly and accommodating. 5-star customer service! The food unfortunately was a bit off. I had the hummus which tasted oddly of canned tuna-fish and was watery. The spinach-artichoke dip had maybe 5 bits of spinach and no artichoke I could taste, and was about 95% mayonnaise... not how I would have preferred to spend $18. The dip came with 10 chips and we had to order $2 side for more chips. The Southern Rolls were quite good. Overall I'd go for the friendly staff and maybe try a salad or something else less dip-y.

My husband and I were visiting from out of state and will never return. I was enjoying a cocktail with a girlfriend when we noticed a sliding door at the end of the bar, we were told by the staff that it led to a whiskey bar but was closed due to being a slow night. We witnessed staff members bringing girls back there (that never came back out) and were told we could open it and look but that there was no serice. Fast forward, to when my husband joined us, we told him about the room and since we were given permission earlier to open the door… imagine our surprise when not one but two staff members jumped my husband when he went to slide the door open. I have never been so uncomfortable in my life. We were then told and I quote “don’t open doors” by the Asian employee who laid hands on him and yanked him back by the collar of his hoodie. As upstanding members of the community and a bar owner myself… this would be considered assault. A simple, hey it’s closed please don’t go in, would have been sufficient. A formal complaint will be filed with ownership.

We enjoyed a great meal and drinks at Kirwan’s. My wife lived here Irish Espresso Martini‘s and my half and half was great. Our fish and chips, Shepard pie and salad were great. All at a good price.Kid-friendliness: Big portions of chicken fingers and fries
