This place is a hidden gem. Absolutely the best cocktails I had in DC so far. No wonder they are ranked top 5. And their food is low key so freaking good. The vibes are amazing! Definitely a great place to bring a date or hang out with some friends in a fun lose environment that has some serious class. Super friendly staff too! Love this place.

We’ve been here multiple times and always enjoy the atmosphere, drinks, and service. However, during our most recent visit, the service was noticeably slow. I didn’t mind too much—it was a Saturday night and the bar was busy, which is understandable.
What did bother me was that after I paid the bill (and tipped well), a server asked us to leave so he could seat the next group. This was only about three minutes after I signed the check and just 1 hour and 15 minutes into our visit. We had ordered multiple rounds and spent a good amount of money, only to be told to “get out” right after paying.
I even told the waiter that my Uber was four minutes away and asked if we could wait at the table until then. He still insisted we get up. This all happened well within the standard 1 hour and 30 minutes you’d expect at a reserved table.
It was a disappointing way to end an otherwise enjoyable evening, and it makes me question whether we’ll be back.

Atmosphere/ambiance was great. Seated quickly walking in on a Saturday night. Tables fairly close and very loud, super hard to have a conversation. Drinks looked great on the menu but my partner and I were ultimately disappointed with the end result. Couldn't denote any of the flavors mentioned on the menu, ultimately overpriced. Also the I simply had my vape on the table to get it out of my back pocket, and the host unwarrantedly stopped to tell me I wasn't allowed to vape inside. No duh, I wasn't nor was planning on it. If I had, I imagine most people would have complained to me and staff. I felt that was unnecessary and inappropriate. Won't be going back.

Kat was a fantastic bartender, she is very knowledgeable and good at her craft. I had a couple delicious variations of the old fashioned and creme brulee, they were all amazing. Ambiance was nice, intimate, but not too loud. Great place for upscale cuisine and cocktails with a cozy, mature atmosphere without being stuffy. 10/10 would recommend.

We came pretty early and didn't need a reservation, but it filled up quickly after so I do recommend making a reservation. We had such a fantastic time at this spot on a Friday night! I really appreciated the hospitality, care and knowledge of the staff. Our bartender was Dylan and he really went above and beyond to share knowledge and expertise on the Amaros I wanted to try. Plus all the cocktails we had were exquisite. Amazing atmosphere and energy and kind staff.

The GM, JP and bar manager Connor made us a couple of perfectly catered cocktails to our preferences! Absolutely delicious drinks and the food was outstanding. Chef Kyle and chef Harling really outdid themselves! Crispy pork belly was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had!

His creativity behind the bar is unmatched—every cocktail feels like a unique experience, perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Beyond his talent, Conner brings such a welcoming and engaging energy that makes the whole visit unforgettable. If you’re at L’Annexe, do yourself a favor and ask for one of his creations—you won’t be disappointed! Spend a little extra for a private experience in the library, it's totally worth it.
