Taqueria Las Gemelas

I used to like this place a lot until til the other day when I went in and I waited over 30 minutes for an order of guacamole and queso. After asking if my order was available, they said they had run out of chips. They had not even started making them until I asked about my order. The manager chuckled like, oops, and asked the kitchen to expedite the chips. Tasty, but it might not be what you expect. Los tacos dorados se comen con la mano. They’re finger food—or they’re supposed to be. But here, they’re served enchilados, covered in salsa, crema, cotija, and lettuce, so you need a fork, and also, if you were expecting non-dairy, they’re not. (And the salsa doesn’t really have much going on.)

Cute Mexican restaurant inside La Cosecha food hall in the Union Market district. Just kept it simple and ordered one of the Al Pastor, Carne Asada, and Pollo tacos. Each were generally good, but could've used a bit of salsa. The Pollo taco was a bit spicy which was a pleasant surprise. No real interaction with employees, simply just place your order at the counter and they call your name out when it's ready. Overall, a bit pricey, but generally good tacos and a beautiful interior.
