Stumbled upon this little bistro after taking a red line shuttle bus following WMATA closures. The bistro was serene and inviting on a cold, winter day in DC. They had a great selection of outdoor, indoor, and heated patio sitting. The service and atmosphere were par for the course, nothing spectacular. The food, however, far exceeded my expectations.First & foremost, this bistro’s speciality is pizza — thin coal fired or Detroit-style. My wife is allergic to dairy but was blown away by the coal-fired vegan cheese vegetable pizza, which was decadent and perfectly balanced between the splendid vegan cheese, mushrooms, spinach, olives and house made tomato sauce! Note: they only do not do vegan cheese substitutes for their Detroit-style pizza.Their Sunday brunch sandwiches — in this case, the McBeasty — were superb, and the Caesar Salad was very fresh and had a unique house made Caesar dressing that tied in everything well!I can confidently say that this place takes #1 for best vegan cheese pizza.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian pizza with options for vegan cheese. The brunch menu has mostly vegetarian options as well. Salads can all be changed to vegetarian or vegan.Dietary restrictions: This bistro has tons of vegan and vegetarian options, especially for their coal-fired pizza.Parking: Parking is limited to paid street parking and nearby paid parking garages. I recommend taking public transportation to this location.Kid-friendliness: The bistro has a kids’ menu and high chairs for babies/toddlers. The staff was very kind and considerate toward my family.

I purchased an order for this location on too good to go. I drove 40 minutes to pick it up and it was cancelled on me when I pulled up to park. Terrible service. Cancelling on someoneis just fine but not when it’s pick up time. I wasted my time and money going. Terrible.

I’ve become a “little beast” when I have a hankering for “the beast” because on multiple visits the food was excellent. From brunch to business lunch to pizza night - I experienced great food, especially the Detroit pizza and good service.

The absolutely BEST pizza I have ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!! Omg I tried the Cheese Detroit Style pizza and to my surprise it was worth every penny and MORE! The crust was perfectly crunchy and soft at the same time. THE SAUCE was sooooooooooo dang on good! I cannot wait to visit DC again just so I can try more of the menu!! They deserve 100 stars! I am a very happy customer. The atmosphere was welcoming and intimate. Super cute spot for a quick lunch date or to solo dine.

Dairy free pizza was delectable! And no extra charge for the vegan cheese. I liked that the crust was thin in the center but had a nice fluffy charred edge. Definitely super busy in there but places an order over the fun and food was hot and ready at

Sorry to write this but all true and based on recent experiences. This place advertises as the local neighborhood hangout but actually doesn’t appear to care about neighborhood or patrons. If you have dietary restrictions or are looking for good customer service, especially for brunch. If you are ordering takeout double check your order before you leave the restaurant. If it is wrong think twice about whether you want them to redo or if you can just eat whatever errors they have made. Go to Macon or Opal for brunch and hit Parthenon for lunch or dinner. If you need a sandwich go to Jetties. Due south is also coming soon and great option. They may be slightly higher in cost but they don’t pretend to be something they are not. Plenty of better ways to spend money in the neighborhood and will only get better!Dietary restrictions: The chef and staff laughed at my request for egg whites and no meat. My order came with meat when I pointed it out I got the same plate with the meat removed. It was greasy and inedible. It’s 2023 it’s totally fine to go somewhere else if this is a concern for you because it will not be addressed. If you order takeout from here, especially dinner, be prepared for what you get to be completely different than what you ordered but also please be advised that you will have to take it as they won’t be able to quickly address their error(s).

There are only so many restaurants that my entire family adores, and Little Beast is one of them. I wish I could comment on more of the menu but truthfully, the first two Detroit style pizzas we tried (classic cheese and the Red Wing) were so tasty that we keep ordering the same thing! It's a delicious balance of crispy crust over dense, cheesy, saucy goodness. The fresh squeezed juices have creative flavors like blood orange and sides like street corn are made more interesting with a topping of hot Cheetos. The restaurant is kid-friendly, with good patio dining space -- great for both avoiding COVID and feeling a little less bad about your messy children. The service has always been friendly and decently fast, barring the busiest weekend dinner crowds. The location is a great spot nearby many other beloved local stores and restaurants, and parking is pretty easy in the neighborhood.

We are here from Austin, Tx, visiting our daughter, who lives on Connecticut Ave.We love the crunchy edges of a Detroit style pizza. The cocktails were very good - I loved the Just Like Heaven, my husband and daughter enjoyed their beers. Very nice waiter. Lovely music.Great first night in Washington DC!

Great family friendly atmosphere. Known for their amazing Detroit Style pizza, but the menu has a lot more to offer. We have two little kids and really love to come for a quick dinner and a drink as a family.
